I don't blame all the atheist. I don't even know Joseph Stalin. Whatever he did has nothing to do with you or with others!!

Nobody I know blames all atheists for Stalin, Mao and Pol Pot who murdered tens of millions of their own people. It is interesting that each was a communist and by definition an atheist. Each outlawed religion before going on to murder those tens of millions. I get nervous when I read about people (often atheists) blaming religion for all of the worlds ills and saying we would all be better off without religion. First, the three atheist leaderss contradict that point. Second, they seem to want to go down the path these guys blazed for us. Not an appealing option to anyone.
Further, there are ways to measure whether someone is a "true" Christian. Measure them against the teachings of Jesus. Nobody is a perfect Christian, but many are true of good ones. Hitler violated every important rule of Christianity. He murdered Christians who opposed him because he violated those rules in a way which harmed others (murder). Bonhoffer was one of those true Christians murdered by Hitler for standing up to him based on his Christian beliefs. History shows that Hitler paraded as a Christian to fool many of his Christian citizens into following him. He was an occultist who did anything to reach his goals. Arguing that he was a Christian is silly in light of all the evidence.

No one should group humans by any criteria other than their actions. Hitler was a fiend and a Christian. Stalin was a fiend and an atheist. They were fiends...
I am a Christian. I do not lump all atheist or any other group by any criteria. I will look and examine an individual.
The fact that I am Christian and I will not say " blame all us atheists for the actions of one person." proves only that you are wrong about at least one Christian.
We ALL must examine our prejudices and predilections.

this is kind of the point of the question that I just posted. What is a "real" anything? Christian, atheist, Witch, anything?
A Christian will say that a person who did all the awful things that the Witch burners did cannot possibly be considered a REAL Christians. OK. If Christians say so, then it is so for them, and the people who did the awful persecution of Witches were simple awful horrible people who falsely called themselves Christians. By the same token, atheists can't be blamed for the bad deeds of one person who called himself an atheist. Atheists can ball themselves atheists and should not have to bear the brunt of blame for the horrible actions of one atheist. We Witches are able to call ourselves Witches and do all kinds of good things and live wonderfully productive lives and should not have to be called "not real" or devil worshipers by people who aren't Witches and who have all kinds of silly and stupid prejudices against us.
great question!

Religion is all about the individual.
My chosen religion is Buddhism, yet I will not EVER claim to be a REAL Buddhist. The reason for this is that I do not believe there is such thing.
I am very different from ever other Buddhist on the planet, even though I share their beliefs. The decisions that I make in life may not be exactly the same as another. Who am I to claim that I am more of a 'real Buddhist' than them?
It is this 'we are all the same' attitude that allows for others to judge us by our religion. For example, if a whole group of people stood up and said 'I am a REAL Christian', before going out and committing mass murder, everybody else would get the message that Christians as a whole are murderers.
There is no such thing as a 'real' Christian, a 'real' Muslim, a 'real' Buddhist...etc
We are all on our own individual paths, using the name of our chosen religions to DESCRIBE our INDIVIDUAL beliefs.
Every one of us is unique, and can make mistakes. We should not allow ourselves to give the impression that our individual mistakes are due to our religions, because our religions apply to others as well. Others who may not be making or willing to make these mistakes. By making our mistakes we harm ourselves. By trying to justify them with religion, we harm everyone within that religion.
So I will now take this opportunity to forgive Christianity for things like the Crusades. They may have used the name of God, but the whole thing was military, not religious. The same goes for recent terrorism, (supposedly) in the name of Islam. The people themselves may have been led to believe that they were fighting for Islam, but in truth they went against it, and by using the 'Islam' label to explain their actions, they allowed others to judge Islam.
When will the hate stop? When we are all dead?
Religion is personal, let's try to keep our own religion, instead of trying to force others to follow it.

Well then you are blaming all of us Christians for the judgement that one person gave you, so is that not the same? And you also pointed out that one person and everyone here that did not compare you to Stalin that Hitler was Roman Catholic, so again... think.

God tells us to show His love to everyone. We have no idea where the person is spiritually, or what they have or are even experiencing when we met them. We are to see them through God's eyes, that He died for everyone. We all the the right to believe the way we choose, whether other's agree with us or not. Even God has allowed us to choose our own way. Hitler may have made it to heaven, we won't know til we get there, I hope he did.

Anytime a hardcore, virulent Christian disagrees with another person, then that person "must not be a REAL Christian." Evidently, the only REAL Christians are the ones that always agree with them.
