i know this isn't r and s Q, but it's busy here.

wonder if anyone can help

i have a nissan primera 1991 1.6 LS car

i'm trying to fit a stereo to my car. i have changed one lead, earth i think with an adapter to get a off-the-shelf radio to wotk. which it now does.

the problem is when i turn the sidelights and headlights on the radio switches off completely. ie no power just goes dead.

does anyone have any idea what is wrong and how to correct it please.
thx in advance.

i suspect that you have the mass/earth of the radio wired to the +pole of the illumination.

Sounds like a bad ground. You only changed one wire? You said "earth" are you meaning the ground wire?

i wish i could help you.
Try calling a local AutoZone or something and perhaps they can put it on a computer for you and tell you the exact problem.

good luck and blessings to you
