why do you feel the need to interfere in his belief? are you that insecure within your belief that you need his approval?
I think you should ask yourself these questions
plus, why don't you talk to him and understand why he feels that way, what gives him his answers? plus again are you not supposed to honour his beliefs like you wish your to be honoured?

You shouldn't have to convince someone god exists - it is my opinion that is your belief and this shouldnt be enforced on anyone, even if you think it is right. Obviously, if you were going to have a good conversation about it then give the person you are trying to 'convince' the facts, and discuss why you believe, but accept that they will have an opinion too and listen to their thinking. If the person you want to convince doesn't agree with your thinking then just accept it, everyone is different and it doesn't matter. People can have different theories on how life began and if 'god' doesnt come into the equation then that is fine. Let me give you the scientific argument of the 'big bang' why cannot that be an acceptable explanation of why the human race exists? Open your mind to other beliefs and you can have a discussion and maybe the person you want to 'convince' will see where you are coming from. If not, then that's what makes us all different!!

Belief in God, prayer, life after death, etc. is something that someone has to accept within their own heart - it's not something that you can really talk someone into. All you can do is honestly tell them why you believe in God, and how it has made a difference in your own life. And live your life as an example of how a believer in God should live. That's what witnessing is.
The best thing to do for him after you have done what I've described above, is to pray daily for him - for his conversion and acceptance of God. If you do not belong to a prayer group that meets regularly and prays together, I suggest that you join one - communal prayer is very powerful. As it says in Scripture, the battle that is being waged is not one of flesh and blood, but rather a spiritual one. Prayer will do more good than trying to intellectually convince him.

Ever heard of an action causes a reaction?
My belief is that you too much action will cause the wrong reaction. Its important that you lay down the facts as they are but its also important for you to realize that you cant convert a person's belief, at the end of the day that decision has to be left up to them.
You cant make someone accept faith, they have to realize this and accept it for themself. Religion should not be imposed on people, it should come naturally from within.

I know you think its the right thing to do but I don't think you should do it. Yea you believe in god and I believe in god but some people don't. Its thier opion. Its like If you think Bush should send the troops home but I think they should stay. There is no right answer because if we send the troops home we won't get our job by getting the bad people out of there so Iraq can get a good government system. But If they stay we will have more people dieing and thier family misses them. And you are trying to change my point of opion. It takes Different type of people to make the world go round. Just accepted it... I know we all know you mean to help him but its going to make you seem annoying.. Hope I have helped... =]
God Bless you

OK, you can't force someone to believe in God, and you shouldn't try. You can tell your friend about God and be a good example of Jesus. But after that, over-preaching to him will just turn him off on the idea. Now the best thing you can do for your friend is to pray without ceasing. Pray for him to open his heart to God. Prayer is the most powerful thing we have.

The world we live in is hell because we have made it so. Think about it, what the earth would be like if man never set foot on it. The garden of eden perhaps. The bible says the same day man disobeyed god and ate the fruit of knowledge was the same day he was excluded from the garden of eden. After he had to hunt for food, clothes, he had to make shelter to survive, everything, however that same disobedience continued henceforth. -War -Murder -Rape -Theft everything. We created this hell-hole for ourselves and this hell is our punishment. (Read the book with an open mind and you may see interpretations others have not) In that i mean you cant fully convince someone that there is god, he has to seek god for himself first.

Is this person in the scientific field? It is difficult for people of that stature to find a comfort level with creation of the universe. Is he trying to change your beliefs? If he is comfortable with whatever faith he has, and is accepting of your faith, then perhaps you could take a page from his book and find a way to be forgiving and accepting of his. If you are truly comfortable with your faith, then forgiveness of anothers should be at the forefront of your feelings. Convincing others to adopt your faith or telling others they are wrong in theirs does not really work in the long run, and can just cause bad feelings down the road. I don't think you have the right to sit in judgement on him.

Sorry, but you can't. You can only tell him why you believe what you do. If the Holy Spirit is not drawing him, no amount of preaching at him, will make a difference...And for that to happen, he would have to want to know the truth with all his heart and be sincere.
Deuteronomy 4:29 "But from there you will seek the LORD your God, and you will find Him if you search for Him with all your heart and all your soul. ...

Pilane,
you can't make anyone do what they don't want to do. The best you can do is pray for him and maybe give him some information he can read. Let him see how you live your life with God in it. Trying to force anyone to believe will only drive them away. Pray that the Holy Spirit will inflame him with God's love for only through God will there be a change of mind and heart.

It's very simple. Offer him hard evidence and experimental proof. Here are some examples:
1. Prove that prayer works.
2. Introduce him to god and have a conversation that is witnessed by other people.
3. Show statistical data that followers of this god have better health, live longer, have more money, have better kids, and are happier.
4. Demonstrate at least 3 miracles that can not possibly be attributed to random luck and that are witnessed by lots of people and video taped.
See, it's easy.
