I am looking for a good, scientific reason. I'm not saying try to give evidence of another hypothesis, just a good reason for why evolution might be a weak theory. Now comes the hard part. If your answer shows ignorance toward science, I will call you on it. I want people who are knowledgeable on the science, not people who parrot arguments when they themselves are ignorant.

I post this in R & S because there seems to be the highest population of people who don't accept evolution here.

And if so, isn't it true that he deflowered his own mother when he was born? Do you think his disciples ever teased him about that? I mean, who would want to be stuck with THAT distinction?

....many problems?

Apparently I have some severe personality disorders, and depression, that until now I was not aware of.

It has caused my quite some concern, and I am told they won't take half the 25k USD that is necessary for my treatment.

I have really borrowed all I can to make it half-way, and I don't know which way to turn next.

Thanks in advance for any words of advice or help you can offer.

I heard that for the first time this morning and found it to be absolutely hilarious.

By the way, I'm Christian...but I have a sense of humor. So don't tell me I'm going to hell because I find this amusing.

The fact that humans have always sought a higher authority convinces me that it's deep within us.
People will always believe ( I know that some of you are going to be " Which God" but it doesn't matter to me what you call him, as long as you believe).

10+ vilation e-mails this morning. I was expecting this due to my heated criticism of Muslims yesterday, but it turns out ALL of the violations were on my posts where I pointed out flaws in the Bible, or said things that were Atheist-oriented.

Is that how you get even with someone that you can't win an argument intelligently with?

You will burn in hell for being an Atheist, but until then, I will make sure you get suspended just so your side of the argument will not be heard. So sad....

How is it possible when the worlds population is booming?

Every now and then, some ancient thought gets some scientific backing. Breathing throught the nose - an ancient meditation technique - cools the brain like a fan in your computer. The essential components of DNA have been found in clay. Time is relative.

So does anyone ever consider the possibility that we are in fact the descendants of the survivors of a worldwide catastrophe? Could our ancient texts have come down - in the form of myths - from those whose knowledge had progressed to levels close to our own?

on this whole belief that jesus will return, doesn't this imply that he left us? and if he left us, he's not necessarily everywhere then. and therefore one cannot claim he is omnipresent, therefore he is not a god? on the contrary, if he is god and he is everywhere, then how can he return if he is already here?

I've read a lot here on R&S about how cristhian apologetics are not credible.
One argument that got my attention was the one about Lee Strobel. He is suposably not credible because he is vey partial in his books and never interviews anyone who disagrees with him.
Is that good enough for all of his books to be discredited? I mean, he does interview only authorities on the subject. Also if the answer to the question is yes, than i can easily just toss all of Dawkins arguments in the trash either: He is partial, his books are clearly biased and he does not present alternatives points of view in them.
Personaly, i believe Dawkins has great arguments, he is a great scientist.
So i don't believe just denying what Christian apologetics write is a good or valid counter argument or a rational point of view.

I'm very interested in all opinions!
Please try not insulting anyone, insulting only shows ignorance ok?

is it me, or does anybody else see a similarity between christians telling 'sinners' and atheists that they must be 'saved' by jesus or they'll go to hell... and those chain mail you often receive claiming that you will die in 7 days, or have bad luck for the rest of your life.if you do not "repost this within 5 minutes"?!
To me, it sounds as if religion could easily just have been made up by some bored person looking to trick as many people as possible into doing everything "god" says...
People often ask, "why dont you beleive in god" and i say it is because...
' i dont underestimate human beings' ability to create and beleive. I am sure if enough people heard about the flying spaggeti monster after time it would become a religion. I dont wish to rule out the idea completely but im not convinced!"

by the way i think that the excuse of " oh... if god was real he wouldnt make anyone suffer" is a valid excuse at all for not beleiving.. Nobody claims god is out to make evry1 happy
