Or am I just warning him out of love for him?

Assume I did not create the freeway. Assume it just evolved.

No, you are a good parent, but how many freeway deaths are there a year? A very small percentage if not any at all. So what exactly is your analogy about? Perhaps you should say that you told your child not to use drugs because you care for him, and assuming that the drugs just evolved then you would be a good parent. If you created the drug, made it appealing to children, told him to stay away from it, and then punished him with eternal pain for it, then you would not be a good parent.

OK, now your kid goes onto the freeway gets hit, ends up in critical care, and when you get to the hospital instead of telling him it will be OK you start punishing him with a major spanking and telling him he will be punished for eternity. Then you yank out all of the tubes and through him out the window into the lake of fire.

Yup, great parent.

Next time read the complete bible story and not just the warm fuzzy bits.

circular logic. It's too easy to see where you are going with this.
However, freeways are a fact as are speed limits. The concept of "hell' was made up by early xtians who couldn't read hebrew.
My three year old can reason better than this implies you can.

No, that would make you a good parent.

However, if you tell your child that if he is bad he will be sent to magical invisible freeway somewhere below us where he will be hit by cars for all eternity... then that would make you a bad parent.

So you're saying that if I jump out of a plane and god doesn't warn me, then god is a poor parent. Interesting. The analogy falls apart unless your children have never seen you.

... Your kid is that Sprite guy from the commercials a few years ago, with the soda machine on the freeway?

You did a lousy job warning him.

No, but if you created the dangerous highway when there were safer modes of transportation available for free then you would be.

You're obviously not doing your job.
You should be watching the kid and helping him trough everything.
If you don't teach him that the highway is dangerous how is the child supposed to know?
