A. THE FORMATION OF THE NEW TESTAMENT CANON (A.D. 100-220)
http://www.newadvent.org/cathen/03274a.htm
The idea of a complete and clear-cut canon of the New Testament existing from the beginning, that is from Apostolic times, has no foundation in history. The Canon of the New Testament, like that of the Old, is the result of a development, of a process at once stimulated by disputes with doubters, both within and without the Church, and retarded by certain obscurities and natural hesitations, and which did not reach its final term until the dogmatic definition of the Tridentine Council. ("Canon of the New Testament")
There is a lot of confusion about the earliest existing texts of the Bible. The oldest extant manuscript of the Bible is believed to be the Codex Vaticanus, (preserved in the Vatican Library), which is slightly older than the Codex Sinaiticus (preserved in the British Library), both of which were transcribed in the fourth century.

In Al Kafi Book by the great Kelliny; part 3 - Hadith 652 "My companions are like stars, whomsoever of them you choose to guide you, will guide you"... By Muhammad Peace and Blessings be upon him, Narrated Ali Ibn Abi Talib - كرم الله وجهه.

Is it proper for Muslims to hate any companion of the peophet after this Hadith? Is it proper for a Muslim to ahte another Muslim whom he never met? And if the problem between you and your brothers of the Sunna is your hatred to Omar, Abubakr, and other comapnions, can't we forget all that and show respect to each others beloved companions in order to be better Muslims?

why was sheding blood , and such a BARBARIC ACT, like the one of having Jesus tortured and cruxified necessary for forgiving our sins? God could have prevented all of this by :
Number one , if he did not put a tree in the garden so that Eve could not have eaten from it, number two if he did not create a snake to tempt Eve, number three THE SIMPLEST PART, WHY DID HE NOT FORGIVE THEM IN THE FIRST PLACE,INSTEAD OF SENDING A JESUS LATER ON TO BE KILLED AND TORTURED SO THAT OUR SIN COULD BE FORGIVEN? WHAT IS UP WITH HIS LUST FOR ANIMAL AND HUMAN SACRIFICES?
If he is God and all forgiving why did he not forgive Adam and Eve in the first place?

Before there was religions,strangers would ask each other upon meeting,"what "god" do you worship?".If they both worshipped the same God than they considered each other a friend. Since Christians worship Jesus who is the God Yahweh in the flesh, and the Jews worship the God Yahweh and the Muslems worship the God Yahweh, than why don't we consider each other friends? Also aren't we all Abraham's children?

God believes;
- in blood offerings;
-has talking animals;ie.snake, donkey,
-thought the best way to populate a world was with incest;
-believes in burning and torturing his off spring forever;
-thinks woman are second class,
-has no problem with murdering thousands at a time;

Christians...good god..yes or no....

And you wonder why we don't want you in our goverment and schools and courts!

- Al Imam Abou Hanifa Al Numan.. the founder of the Hanafi school of Islamic jurisprudence, and The Imam of the Sunna Imams...

- Abu Hanifa was also one of the Tabi'een, the generation after the Sahaba, because he saw the Sahabi Anas ibn Malik, and transmitted hadiths from him and other Sahaba.

This great Imam was a very close student and Friend to
Ja'far Al-Sadiq ibn Muhammad ibn Ali ibn Husayn, who was the sixth infallible Imam and one of Ahl al-Bayt of the Shi'a Muslims.

Abu Hanifa Al Numan said about the two years he spent as a student to Jafar: "Without the two years, Al Numan wuld have been wasted".

Do you think this is the way Sunna and Shia have to be together? brothers and sisters with no malice or hate?

your thoughts please!

I have seen a few and I want to get them one of them was people going up in the air as thier snekers were left on the ground and Jesus was up in the air and it said "Capture the Rapture" I like that one, another one is a picture of a sun and in the middle of the sun was a picture of Jesus and it read "If you do not have the Son you will probablly burn" That's cool too, another one was a car Jack in the middle of the t-shirt and it said "If you don't have Jesus you don't know Jack" Cool too. Another one was "Don't beleive in hell? It's still there and your still going" Thats a funny one but I think I would get a few stares with that one. Another one was How do you prefere your place in eternity "Smoking or non smoking, with the lake of fire under neath where it says smoking. That was cool too. My mother said that was being pridful. So I won't get that one. I like the sticker in a christians book shop I was going to give to my sister that said 'He is coming back for me, how about you?"

I made up my mind that I will be nice and say hi to a person from my past. They actually did the breaking up. You'd think that their face would break if they smiled and said hi. This person also lives behind me now with their family. This is a weird situation because their parents moved next door to me. Is this one of the plagues from the Bible strickly for me! How do I get through life when I'm surrounded by my past? God keeps telling me to live at peace with everyone if possible. I'm trying to let my light shine and except my neighboors and my situation that God seems to have put me in. Why would this old boy friend not forgive and forget when he is suppose to be a christian now and I am a christian now? He is not even friendly to my husband.

I start getting that Ramadan feeling at least a month before it starts....it starts slowly but builds up until the night before Ramadan I can barely wait for it to start...dont know why but I love Ramadan and Im always very sad to see it go. People are sooo much nicer during Ramadan...we are all trying to be on our best manners...no fighting arguing....bad language etc....making peace with family or friends that you might have been estranged from...reading the Quran everyday until you have finished it...night prayers with everyone in the mosque...listening to the Quran while your cooking iftar....its really the most peaceful of times for me.

The best thing about this Ramadan coming is that I am divorced now so I will not have to put up with the bad behavoir of my ex who made us crazy cause of his inability to handle no smoking for a few hours...made our Ramadans miserable....yay for me and the kids....a smoke free pain in the *** free Ramadan...cant wait...lol.

Anyone else...?

I am asking this because I am personally going through a struggle with my own spirituality. I was raised to be spiritual, and I have a lot of faith based around my spirituality, and in the past few years, I have been doubting my spirituality. One of the reasons is that, I used to pray and meditate for years, which used to bring calmness and soothing to me, but I see a lot of bad in the world, and I know a lot of good people who pray and medicate for good to come, yet God doesn't answer....I waited for his answer forever....I pray, I have faith in god, and God leaves us hanging. I am coming to the conclusion that we have ourselves and only ourselves in this world.....its almost like I don't want to believe in this, I want to be spiritual like I used to, but it seems pointless...I put so much faith into it and nothing, no answers....

I was with my wife for 9yrs before we married last April. After only 8 months of marriage our union has disolved to almost nothing, at the point where the divorce is being filed. We started counselling and trying to talk more openly but with little success. I moved out in January this year and have financially supported her for the whole time of our separation, I feel that it is time to move on and proceed with diovorce and start anew. Since this is my first marraige and her second, I feel that even though I have repented for this I have no peace within myself or with the big guy upstairs, is it still a sin in the eyes of the lord??
What advice would you give or whats your understanding of the moral/sin aspect of this situation??
Will accept emails or IM also.
Thanks

For the Christians that do believe that being homosexual is a sin, I was just curious about what advise you might give this situation.
If there was a homosexual couple living together, or having a legal "union" for about 10 years, than something happens that makes them strong believers.
What would you as christians suggest they do, knowing a man should not lay with a man, but knowing they have such love for each other, and cannot imagine living without one another.
What would a Christian do?
And if you do advise them to repent and go their separate ways, what would you advise them on Matthew 5:28 "But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart." How would you leave someone of 10 years (still loving them in your heart) and not lust for them?

I am not homosexual (but I always believe love is better than hate) and I have read the bible, but have a lot more to learn, and just want some christian opinions.

Even if God exists, I'd argue that the critical question of the meaning of life is still not answered.

If we live only to serve God, then die and worship him forever, what's the point? What is the justification of creating the Earth if Step One and Step Two are all you get?

...some sort of religion? I was thinking about this, I was raised christian, and of course don't believe any of the BS and lies, and am against organized religion. But like, even if lets say some Athiest became president and passed legislation ending all religions because they're nothing but cooky cults....wouldn't people eventually start assimilating and creating new religions, and play into people insecurities??? Whhat im trying to get it is that there will always be some weird religion out there!!!!!
