I am asking this because I am personally going through a struggle with my own spirituality. I was raised to be spiritual, and I have a lot of faith based around my spirituality, and in the past few years, I have been doubting my spirituality. One of the reasons is that, I used to pray and meditate for years, which used to bring calmness and soothing to me, but I see a lot of bad in the world, and I know a lot of good people who pray and medicate for good to come, yet God doesn't answer....I waited for his answer forever....I pray, I have faith in god, and God leaves us hanging. I am coming to the conclusion that we have ourselves and only ourselves in this world.....its almost like I don't want to believe in this, I want to be spiritual like I used to, but it seems pointless...I put so much faith into it and nothing, no answers....

Spiritual reality is inclusive of material reality. Material reality could not exist without the spiritual. Every atom of our physical being is held together by spiritual force.
Is the force mindless or is it intelligent and aware?

You had grew up and been through a lot of experiences in life. Along the way, you faced obstacles and learn to overcome them. Only through faith in God & yourself ar you able to really realize the benefit behind everthing.
The world outside is only going to turn worse. Learning to see the good from the bad is always what we need to learn and teach ourselves.
God neither leave us hanging nor dump us aside. Many things come at their own time, and you need to be aware of that and count the blessings. Only when you realise, will you keep on learning and growing. Then your spirituality will continue to grow strong. Having spirituality in every sense is good, but that doesn't mean having spirituality you don't need to face obstacles and you will forever stays good that way. Things will come to test you, so that you learn to become better and your faith towards God will become stronger as well. Don't doubt yourself as it dilutes the belief and values you uphold. Ponder every now and then and keep yourself motivated. Don't look outside for answers, but look inside. Ask yourself what you want actually. Only in silence will you find God's answer. If you are so busy looking around, how would you notice someone or something valuable waiting for you to pay attention to?

Hi, I don't really know, but spiritual means you have to believe in whatever you pray for even when there is no answers. You have to search spritually for the answer yourself. God keeps us hanging because He think its best for us this way maybe? So, instead of being so doubtful over this, I suggest that you thank God for giving you another brand new day and live it to the fullest. The more you think over this, the more you get depressed. For me, spirituality means whether the prayers come true or not, I just believe in myself. Thats whats more important, Its our life, why wait for something to happen. Make it happen! God bless.

Well, not all spirituality is based on truth. So, it may be that you feel weak either because your spirituality hasn´t got a solid or authentical base, or if it does, you may be experiencing temptations that try to pry you way from it. You haven´t given more information on you so I would not even know where to begin.
BTW, you have not waited for His answer forever, you are still there, and life still goes on. The answers you are looking for may still come, or they can have indeed arrived and you may have not wanted to see them for what they were.
Although I do not know on what faith your spirituality is based, in Christian faith for example, one cannot go about faith by oneself solely because faith is a thing experienced in unison with the others, in Church, in communion with God.Faith is not a one way relationship, one is part of something bigger than oneself, something that has a physical-as well as spiritual- structure. This way, there is a body whose members are all of us in the same faith, and as body members do, we have each our individuality and function but live in harmony and according to the body we belong to. This way, we do not depend solely on our judgement, knowledge and reason but on our relationship with the body, and in times of weakness, the rest of the body is there to help us. So, you could look for spiritual guidance within your faith, by someone of the same body as you, to reinforce your weak perception and pray to have your soul and mind enlightened as to the truth of the things. Keep praying and look out. But do not give up. One of the proofs of the existence of Spirit or God that we have - if someone ignores the more obvious historical facts - is our very own search for such. We would not have notions of Spirit or God into us if we were solely flesh and blood. An exclusively material nature cannot produce spiritual and intellectual restleness, therefore keep looking.

Personally, I see it as the latter. And I actually do meditate myself at times. But it calms the mind and body - only. Not the "spirit".

You have described having trouble with how you express your spirituality. That can't be helped when so many people are telling you how you should do it. I suggest find your own path.

God does answer prayers.....EVERY SINGLE ONE! He just dosn't always answer yes. I know it can be a srtuggle, but pray to god and ask him to fill you with wisdom and love. Ask him to come inside you. You cant bring him there by just going to church and such, you just need to ask him to be there for you. eventually you will be able to feel him, i know i have!
