It is another testament of Jesus Christ. It is the stick of Joseph promised by Ezekiel in the Old Testament. It is the book containing the fulness of the Gospel carried by an angel in Revelations.

It contains the words of other ancient prophets which helps us understand our Heavenly Father, and His love for us.

Not in the order of the book, but:

Ziggarat Builders working on the Tower of Babel emigrate to America 2200 years BC (in very un-seaworthy crafts), formed into contentious armies, then wiped each other out.

Then, about 600 BC, refugees from Jerusalem's siege by the Babylonians produced two groups: the Lehites, headed up by Lehi, and Mulekites, headed up by, you guessed it. Mulek.

They to split into two contentious groups, warred and warred and then they wiped themselves out, too. Almost.

Both had great civilizations with armor and swords and roads and temples and horses and cattle and honeybees and used minted coinage, and 'last man standing' culture, the Lamanites, are claimed to be the true descendants of the American Indian.

The source for this "Book of Mormon" was a golden codex in book form (not scrolls) that was found and translated by Joseph Smith from its unknown glyphics to English using his newly found Power of God (and peepstone). It is remarkably difficult to read.

No evidence of these civilizations nor the codex exist, and Smith had a history of treasure hunting, story-telling, and outright lying.

So, it's actually about nothing much at all.

It is basically an account of christian history the same as the bible. The difference is that it is the history of central America whereas the bible is more the middle east. I know a lot of people think the LDS and/or RLDS are out to change or take away from the bible. I assure you that is not the case. I have read the Book of Mormon and there is nothing in there that contradicts the bible. Its just a different account from a different people. Also, I think the Book of Mormon is an easier read that the bible. The dialect is a little closer to ours, I think. I would read it for yourself before you throw it out the window.

ex-mormon, I read the darn thing three times, now lets see if I can remember, for some reason, Lehi, Nephi's father had to build a boat and come over to america, sort of liek a Noah's Ark story to explain where the indians and Hawwians came from and were jesus went during his three days befor ehe got ressurrected (so the Book of Mormon is suppose to be a second witness to the bible) anyways where was I, they build an ark-like boat and come over to USA. Part of them start warring and they get a Mark of dark skin like they claim Cain is Marked with black skin in their KJV Bible, puff, indians. The civilization was all across north and south america when Jesus saw them, even after Jesus saw them, they still decide to kill each other until one man is left, so Jesus coming to see them, should have made them want to live , but they decide to kill themselves anyways, how drab, I think I have a question to ask Mormons, thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's about how Joseph Smith meets the angel Moroni who gives him magic glasses to read/interpret a writing he claims to have found. This leads him to the establishment of the Mormon religion.
