or is she more commonly referred to as something else?

this is my thought:

If the Lord promised a child to an almah, which would obviously mean it must origin in Holiness, it would be either one of these:

that the almah is married - the marriage would be necessary because the Lord is Holy and wouldn't allow a promised Child that is of God's purpose to be born in sin.

or that the almah is unmarried - in which case she would have to be virgin to again avoid an unholy situation

if it is not common for an almah to be known within wedlock, it must then mean that the almah referred to in Isaiah 7:14 must be a virgin

I know this verse is contraversial for the two religions, but please try to be as objective as you can for my sake :)

My parents would have taken me to the woodshed for saying it, I am sure. But nowadays I even hear preachers and almost everybody else say it all the time. It is especially offensive to hear Christians and Jews say it; I ignore (and certainly never ever correct - correcting people is so self-righteous) profanity when I hear nonbelievers say things.

Do we really want the culprit to be punished
Or settle things and go on
Or just shout the mistakes all time in public and give strangers a chance to point us
Or forget everything once for all and start afresh.

looks like most atheists go to heaven because most of them never personally had a relation with God, thus it's impossible to reject God since they never met him. I met him, but i don't want to change, i wanna be a rebel bhahahahaha

every time I hear or read an atheist explain their belifes( or lack there of) they mostly use Christianity to explain why religion is not true. don't they no there are many other religions?

There are hundred of thousand of religions in the world yet they are never used in the debate of religion.

I would like to have a conversation or see a tv show that isn't the same anti-christianity. how about my religion?

its not the same as christianity by no means. yes there are creation tales like christianity but we know that they are just stories. but we still belive that there was something that created. and in the depths of my body I know there is a soul. and when I ask late in night for protection for myself and my family I know something has changed. and when people die yes there bodies decompose but there soul (energy) did not die but only move on.

maybe religion was made by humans to cope with the world but may be because we belive we created something thats real.

I'll pass on this one.

"And thou shalt eat it as barley cakes, and thou shalt bake it with dung that cometh out of man, in their sight. And the LORD said, Even thus shall the children of Israel eat their defiled bread among the Gentiles, whither I will drive them." (Ezekiel 4:12-13)

,,.without getting a violation? But religious types can threaten me with burning in hell and all sort of dire happenings if I do not see things their way?
Is it all as one-sided as I think it is? Should we not give them a violation for saying that gods exist?

I’m going out on a limb here; I think it was. Does this prove that the gaining of knowledge is weakening religion? Like sandcastles on a beach eroding as a tide of new knowledge comes in?

I am an atheist and I truely look down on Chrisitianity.
I know that it is Christians mission to convert every singel human into a Chrisitian. If you think you got what it takes to convert me then try. First of all don't tell me to have faith; whatever prayers I do might just be coincidences if they are answered. Praying or not makes no difference as some problems are solved and some not solved, likewise God answering sometimes and not sometimes. Don't tell me to read the Bible; the fact that God created light before the sun is already enough to disprove the Bible. Don't tell me to read the Bible metaphorically since then you can make the context to be whatever you can imagine. Don't tell me to get a relationship with God and that I can feel him. In fact I can feel my dogs spirit and soul more than of an illusionary being. Don't tell me Jesus died for our sins and he forgives me. I have done nothing sinful and I don't need his forgiveness.

If god can just release your sins at the asking of forgivness and god will take you to heaven if you truly believe in him, what is the point of sins?

Please don't take this the wrong way because it's just a question I have been thinking about alot lately.
If most religions say that when you die you go onto a perfect land and everything is perfect, why do religiouse people continue to live on Earth which I guess woud be hell compared to that place.
Don't take it the wrong way please i'm just curiouse.

I really want to know how to protect myself from this devilish mantras. People who really belive ... only they should contribute...people who think that this is all rubbish please excuse...

before i started visiting this site, i was considering the term, and i thought that to be what describes my belief system the best. i don't care much for sectarianism or denominational thought, so it sounded fitting. now though, it seems like i have to picket harry potter movies, attack gay rights, and spew hatred out of my mouth at all times if i want to put myself in this category. sooooo... what's a better term? i know i'm setting myself up, but i have a sense of humor. i'll have fun with it.
