No. Sin does not exist. If you're asking whether or not it's immoral, my opinion is that masturbation is morally neutral - i.e. neither right nor wrong.

I have a challenge for you. Go to crosswalk.com, they have a search engine. Look through all the versions of the Bible they have, and search for the words "masturbate" and "masturbation".

Never mind, I'll save you some time. They're not in there.

The Bible says sexual sin is the only sin you commit against yourself - but he was talking about sexual immorality, like fornication, adultery, and, yes, homosexuality.

The verse people like to use to say masturbation is sinful is in Genesis, Chapter 38, Verses 9 and 10:

Onan knew that the heir would not be his; and it came to pass, when he went in to his brother's wife, that he emitted on the ground, lest he should give an heir to his brother. And the thing which he did displeased the Lord; therefore He killed him also.

It doesn't say he masturbated, it says he pulled out so she wouldn't get pregnant.

Also - look through the 10 Commandments. Not there either.

Sin is a concept invented by the churches to help control the population, who they wanted to increase in the early days. Now there are too many people in the world, yet they still persist with the ban on masturbation. But masturbation is a legitimate means of reducing stress, and as such, should be fostered in this world. It tends to lower the incidence of rape , too.

Oh geez ... it depends on what "Christian" philosophy you believe in! It goes to some really small print in the bible that speaks of "wasting seed" ... it's my understanding that this is why Mormons have so many children (because sex is for procreation only ... not for fun). Masturbation is considered wasted seed.

Personally, I don't believe in "sin" .. I believe in "wrong" .. and I can't see how masturbation is wrong! I hope not! Because if I believed in heaven and hell, I know which way I'd be going.

Well, don't really think I answered your question. Simply put .. I wouldn't worry about it .. and if you are that concerned, speak to your Pastor, Priest, or whoever your church considers an elder and go from there.

Only if you're doing it over a picture of the Virgin Mary.

Forget the Bible, forget all the nonsense stories they fill your head with in church. Masturbation is normal, healthy, and fun.
Still, if you really want to be punished for enjoying yourself you could buy one of these:

(no porn, but don't click on the links if you're not 18).

Yes.

If you are a Christian then the only purpose for sex is to procreate. If you have one child, you can have sex once. If you want to children, you can have sex twice.

Onan was killed by god for masturbating. He will kill you too if you have any form of sex that does not lead to a baby. Its in the Bible (Genesis 38) so it must be true.

No, it's not a sin.
The bible never said not to masturbate.

Onan was NOT killed by god for masturbating.
He was supposed to get his dead brothers wife pregnant, (so she could have some inheritance), instead he slept with her and pulled out.

Actually, yes, as it goes along with a fantasy of someone. This is the fulfillment of lust, and if you lust after someone, you have committed adultery with them in your heart.

As Jesus said;

Matthew 5:27-28

27 “You have heard that it was said to those of old, ‘You shall not commit adultery.'

28 But I say to you that whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.

Substitute "fornication" for "adultery" if you and the object of your lust are unmarried, and you have the same answer.

The actual action of masturbating? Probably not. The thoughts that go along with the action? Yep!

Well, If you are enjoying it, then it is not a sin. If you don't enjoy it, I would say that is a sin, and a waste of time. Therefore, I think you and your lady friend should get together, do each other, then just call it something else. I won't tell if you don't. Ain't that the xtian way?
