People believe them because they are blind followers. Even if you show them errors they will not believe you. For example,

According to the Bible, Book of Genesis
Chapter 1, verses 11-13,
Vegetation was created on the third day along with seed-bearing grasses, plants and trees; and further on as per verses 14-19, the sun was created on the fourth day. How is it scientifically possible for the vegetation to have appeared without the presence of the sun, as it has been stated in the Bible?

It also says light is created on the first day where as the source of light 'The Sun' is created on the fourth day. How is this scientifically possible?

Some people still believe that these verses are true even though they cannot prove it scientifically. They don't want to use logic. They will give you some rubbish answer.

Because the bible is the word of God and he teaches us. It is man who has made changes to the bible and to answer La chacha
The Bible has various tranlations which tend to give the scriptures different meanings. That is because there a currently 21 recognized versions of the bible. If you compare for example the King James Version to the New Edition of the bible you would find many places where things were changed from version to version which also changes what a particular verse means.

I agree with La ChaCha. Trot out your errors and let us examine what you're talking about. But be careful. Easily shot down "so called errors" will just promote the idea that you're careless and not at all objective. Shotgunning it is counterproductive. Better a few well thought out examples of your "errors".

And what, pray tell, are those errors of which you speak of?

Please specify in your answer which verses you mean. Usually when someone claims an error, they describe the error and provide the correct interpretation.

You just can't make a claim and let it be a TRUE statement because you said so.

Are you in fact, a religious historian?

Please, enlighten us.
