No, they all were inspired by the world or Someone who understood exactly how it works. They must therefore reflect what is true about the world we live in and therefore have some similarities... by the by, the God figures are not all that consistant religion to religion... Hinduism (the world's third largest religion) has many gods that function very differently from each other but the religion still has a similar function to its followers (contentment and righteousness to be blessed). Islam and Christianity are both based on an older religion--Judaism (and Islam is partially based on Christianity as well; Jesus is a prophet in the Koran).

The main religions are so similar because they have a common root and source Abraham is the prophet all of the major religions recognize and after him when Moses brought the message of God to the people of Egypt they called their religion Judaism. Then Jesus came to the people of the Roman Empire and they called their religion Christianity and then Muhammad came to the people of Arabia and they called their religion Islam. In a sense they do worship the same god in different ways but they all seem to disagree on the essentials of the idea of how God is and how to worship him.

Well, they all developed right around the same area in the middle east.

That's why the 3 religions we know today are different than the pagan european religions and the asian religions.

And mostly, the middle eastern religions we known today (christianity, judaism, islam) are younger than most of the other religions we know about.

And to whoever said that the religions developed FROM christianity is wrong. Judaism was first, then Christianity developed out of that. Considering Christ was a jew after all. Islam developed on its own, but parallel to Christianity. The Q'uran even mentions Christ as one of God's prophets.

But Islam and Judaism agree on atleast one thing, that Christ was NOT the son of God but only his Prophet....one of many.

THEY JUST SEEM SIMILAR.

But they're really not.

The very first one thousands of years ago is of course judaism. Where a God was known to have saved His people from the Egyptian pharoahs split the red sea and gave them a covenant of hope.

Then came Jesus who said that the hope that God promised is in Him and that whoever believes will be saved. Before Jesus left, He rejected any more prophets that will come after Him. In His place, He sent a Holy Spirit. A spirit that makes believers speak in tongues and pray to God directly in words unknown to man.

Problem started when Islam came into the picture and rejected these 2 religions by claiming their founder as a prophet who was himself a man known amongst his peers as a murderer and liar and pedophilic rapist. These shames and crimes are all recorded in the Islamic hadiths that today's muslims totally reject even though their very faith was first established using these hadiths because their most 'holy' book, the quran was not written in any contextual format, but a splatter of incoherent teachings that lead its people to murder and kill Jews and Christians for a reward.

SO, THE RELIGIONS ARE NOT SIMILAR IF YOU BOTHER TO FIND OUT MORE.

Most importantly allah is NOT the God of the Jews. Saying it is, is blasphemy. Because allah teaches a totally contrasting teaching to that taught by the Jewish God, Yahweh.

Without Judaism, Jesus could still establish a huge following with His teachings of love and self-sacrifice. But without the judeo-christian god, Islam cannot be established because everyone will ask who is allah and allah has been proven by historians to be just a pagan moon idol.

How are they similar? I don't see a lot of similarities between Christianity, Islam, and Hinduism for example. They might say some stuff using the same words, but they define the words differently.

well, if we go all the way back to the garden of Eden, then yea, they are all based on the truths that God gave Adam and Eve. Those who chose not to follow God made up their own religions, naturally there would be some carry over.

New Catholic, you are incorrect.

Christianity, Catholicism, 7da, LDS, etc are all different denominations of the same faith.

Judaism doesn't accept that Christ was the son, was the Messiah, or especially that Christ IS G-d.

All the main Christian religions are similar because they are all based on the same faith.

The Christians, Jews, and Muslims worship the same God.

In different ways.
