Forgiveness affirmations regularly.

I'm a Christian and I think it's mostly inside work, within my own heart, but it helps to do something friendly or helpful for the other person, even if it's only shaking their hand or something like that. It actualizes my forgiveness of them.

It's also important, for me at least, to bear in mind that I need forgiveness too. In the Lord's Prayer Jesus said, in effect, "...forgive us our wrongs, AS WE FORGIVE those who have wronged us..."

Hope this helps.

P.S. If "actualizes" isn't a real word, please forgive me.

The notion of "Christian" forgiveness is a vacuous gesture, I have seen it many times played out.

A Christian will say and go through the motions of forgiveness but its largely for self-gratification, they do not oppose pressing charges or punishing the offender, nor should they perform such an immoral act, they merely pay lip service to tawdry notions of religious piety; it is utterly contemptible.

What is forgiveness without pardon? It is a contradiction in terms. It is piety masquerading as moral action.

if you mean. to forgive a person then you don't have alot of work ahead of you. think deeply what they have done and what you don't like abput what they have done. then forget about it. Look at it this way. If it was your mother who opened an account in your name for over £200 and you had no other way but to pay it. it would hurt to know that your mother would do something like this. My mother did this to me, our family is always fighting over it. I am a piecefull person with a light heart i forgive my mother of what she has done. But i don't really think i will ever forget. If you want to forgive then forgive its the best feeling to know you have forgiven someone.

You mean we are supposed to work at forgiving? Heck, according to all the other Christians you should just give it, not make someone work for it. How much is minimum wage for working towards forgiveness?

I don't really work at it. I have pretty thick skin to begin with (read: oblivious) and I have a decent sense of humor. When I do get offended or hurt, I usually stew about it for a while, then I forget it. Memory of a goldfish.

Well, I sometimes have to overcome that overwhelming urge to strangle somebody who truly needs it in order to forgive them their trespasses against me.
