I asked this question a few minutes ago and everyone wants sources. The sources and steps are below.

Scientists have proven that the earth was truely "formed" in the same steps described in Genesis! This evidence was only discovered recently. So how did Moses get it right?

bible:
1. light
2. land
3. water
4. firmament
5. birds and sea creatures
6. wild beasts, humans
7. rest

science:
1. sun (gravitational pull / light)
2. layers of the earth (land)
3. water
4. heavy astroid bombardment, forcing steam to escape creating firmament or 2nd atmosphere
5. sea life
6. animal life

why did god put jesus on earth? if god is omnipitent is there any need to create a human-god born of a human and why was it nessecery that jesus be born of a human, god can create humans apparently like he did adam my problem is that christiany claims to be a monotheistic religion but claim that there are three seperate entities of the same god, which i believe to be a bad explanation

words like: lucky
I can't seem to find the word "luck" or "lucky" in the bible, but I'm hearing that it shouldn't be used because it's a pagan word but not given any reference to how it is.
If you can explain, please give a reference from the bible...

if you're going to make outrageous claims that can't be backed up (unless you can truly communicate with the dead), isn't it fair for people to poke fun at those claims? so often i hear responses to my questions like, "when you die, you can ask god" or "don't be mad when you're dead and you go to hell, you had you chance to believe." come on people, show me some proof!!!

The Tannaïtic Midrash Sifre to Numbers in §157 comments on the above quoted commandment of MOSES to kill the Midianite women as well as the male children...."

"....According to the Tannaïte Rabbis, MOSES therefore had ordered the Israelites to kill all women older than three years and a day, because they were [virgins and] "suitable for having sexual relations." [138]...."

Under God's direction, Moses' army defeats the Midianites. They kill all the adult males, but take the women and children captive as sex slaves. When Moses learns that they left some alive, he angrily says: "Have you saved all the women alive? Kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman that hath known man by lying with him. But all the female children, that have not known a man by lying with him, keep alive for yourselves." So they went back and did as Moses instructed, killing everyone except for the virgins. In this way they got 32,000 virgins . ----(Numbers 31:1-54)

I believe there are a lot of sad and lonely people out there...who see no purpose to their life....so, they cling to the hope that God will return soon to justify their meager existence.

It is kinda the entitlement philosophy...no one wants to work hard anymore...they just want things given to them....likewise, people are lazy...they don't want to deal with the ups and downs of life...or work hard, physically, mentally or spiritually, ..they just want to sit back and wait for the world to end....lazy asses. :-)

I believe many people to be losers in life...and in religion, they feel some kind of power and promise to be something better than they are now....they will be able to walk on streets of gold when in heaven...eventhough, they live in filth in this life.

I am amazed, at how fundamentalist Christians are so obsessed with the end of the world...instead of enjoying the beauty of the creation that has been given to them here on earth.

Your thoughts?
