Because it prevents the creation of more Catholics, they're also not allowed to use contraception and it prevents the creation of more Catholics.

Created in the image of the one God and equally endowed with rational souls, all men have the same nature and the same origin. Redeemed by the sacrifice of Christ, all are called to participate in the same divine beatitude: all therefore enjoy an equal dignity.

The Catholic Church believes there is nothing sinful about being homosexual. But homosexuals like all unmarried people are called to celibacy.

The Church specifically says that homosexuals "must be accepted with respect, compassion, and sensitivity. Every sign of unjust discrimination in their regard should be avoided."

Here is the text of the document, On the Pastoral Care of Homosexual Persons (1986): http://www.newadvent.org/library/docs_df86ho.htm

For more information, see the Catechism of the Catholic Church, section 2357-2359: http://www.usccb.org/catechism/text/pt3sect2chpt2art6.htm#2357

With love in Christ.

The Catholic Church would not be representing one of the dominant religions within our global culture if it did not effectively motivate communities of faithful believers to out work, out fight, and out number competition. As part of leadership that movitates communities of faithful believers, conservative ideological authorities that propagate aggressive ideological traditions proclaim that a mythical good one in Heaven prohibits sex for occupation, recreational and homosexual purposes. This has the effect of motivating communities of faithful believers to channel all or most sexual energy into sex for procreative purposes and has enabled the Catholic church to lead the global culture to experience an exponential population explosion unpresidented in the history of human kind.

Well, the chruch does accept Gay people but not the gay behaviour.
I know this seems to be splitting hairs but the bible specifically condemns homosexual behaviour in many places.
any church that is a bible based church has to wrestle with this problem.
Either you adhere to sacred scripture or you dont.

In my opinion, it's because the Catholic faith is massively out of touch with the modern world.

This isn't an attack on catholics and who knows, I might be wrong but I challenge any Catholic to deny that their faith is *percieved* as archaic by many non Catholics.

In the Roman Catholic church the only reason for sexual relations is to produce pregnancy.
This applies to everybody. Therefore homosexuality is outlawed and even heterosexuals who are physically unable to produce children for any reason are forbidden to marry.

Accept them?

The Catholic Church DOES accept them, just like it accepts all people. Homosexuals need our Prayer and support, they have a tougher burden to bear than most of us.

Peace!

Because they are ignorant and can't think for themselves. If they bible says so then that's what they spit out till they are blue in the face.

Side note: they say they love the sinner but hate the sin. Can you really distinguish between the two? If you are raped, can you say you honestly hate the rape but you love the raper? That's a bunch of BS

It is sinful to do homosexual acts. They accept all sinners but the thing is they have to acknowledge their sin.

Why do people say "No offense to Catholics" and then proceed to offend Catholics. The large majority of priests are NOT homos or pedophiles so quit the crap!

Probably because the majority of their members would not approve of it. They have been weakened so badly because of the pedophilia by so many of their Priests, they cannot afford any more problems or difficulties right now.
