If you know someone is having sex or if someone is just having a fun life, living life to the fullest, enjoying life, do you get jealous?
Do you get jealous when you see a person who is not shackled by unnecessarily restrictive religious sin laws?
Do you get jealous when you see someone who is not filled with guilt and shame for their existence and who has the strength to think for themselves? Do you envy their freedom?

When someone else has or gets something that you desire even though you consider the thing to be a "sin", does that make you envious and bitter?
Do you then wish revenge on them in the form of saying "You're going to Hell!"?
If you could have whatever it is that is making you bitter, would you still consider it to be a sin?
Or do you only consider things to be sins as long as you can't have them? Do you change the "sin" laws around to meet your needs in different situations? Is this a way of making people feel bad for having the things that you desire?

And also the creator. They also said that the true God was hidden. At first, it sounds blasphemous that the Abrahamic God is a 'second-class God.' But let's look at this metaphorically. What if the Demiurge is not actually LITERALLY the God of the Old Testament; what if the Yhwh motif was used as a metaphor for the oppressive elements that claim to have adopted the law of Yhwh, and keep people down? The conclusion would then be that the Hidden God of the Gnostics on an ultimate level IS the God of the Jews, Christians and Muslims? I realise that Gnostics are said to have been against the Hebrew God; but what if YHWH is in fact a metaphor for the forces of compulsion and oppression? And the original message, originally passed to initiates in secret for fear of misinrerpretation, has indeed been misunderstood by christians; and the Gnostics were not really rebelling against Jehovah, but rather against those claiming divine sanction: the Catholic Church?

I was talking to this Christian woman in a bookstore ( who approached me for some reason)- and she asked me if I listened to rock music and she starts bringing up all this supposedly 'satanic' stuff about KISS, Megadeath, Judas Priest, Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Motley Crue, Metallica ect. At the end of her little spiel I had to explain that I didn't listen to any of those groups and she walked away.
I'm just wondering-didn't she know that there were other kinds of rock besides heavy metal, or was she just quoting something that someone had told her?

A member of the board for the last eight years, McLeroy was described by the Dallas Morning News (July 18, 2007) as "aligned with social conservative groups known for their strong stands on evolution, sexual abstinence and other heated topics covered in textbooks" and as "[o]ne of four board members who voted against current high school biology books because of their failure to list weaknesses in the theory of evolution."

Maybe I'm misunderstanding, here. Is the objection that the books chosen would include weaknesses in the theory of evolution? And that would be bad...why?
Teaching our children sexual abstinence would be bad...why?
Please help me to understand the objections, here??

why can't Christians admit there is no evidence for their beliefs? The definition of faith necessarily means that there is no proof.

I saw these beautiful little white crosses at the road intersections and decided to adorn my lawn with a bunch of them around my driveway.

These guys were a mixture of slave-owners, bootleggers, and lawyers. Very far from perfect, yet most of our society holds them up as model human beings.


I guess ~200 years can clean up anyone's image...imagine what 2000 years has done to the characters in the Bible?

Do you really believe that if you haven't made a Christain profession of faith that in not doing so people are making a statement as to siding with Satan?

I just don't believe that at all. I'm a Christian, but I know many who are not - who also do not side with Satan and are not evil, etc.

lol..Well, beside my computer in general, My Movie Maker keeps freezing on me and says [not responding] on the top....Its making me mad, since i have to make a DVD for my church. I've done one already, but Stupid program keeps getting that little white box in the cornor and says not responding....then it turns off...anyway to stop it or know why its doing that???

Do you think it is more that christians are always telling you your wrong and should convert, etc... which would make anyone angry (lol) and most pagans pretty much tell you "whatever makes you happy"?

I know that all the prayers that everyone is saying for Beth will be answered. Those who are praying for who will be blessed and I personaly will be praying for all because God put it in my heart that all are lovely persons and those who are not praying well I'll pay for you all too because the love that Jesus showed me is for all and not for some.
In this moment my prayer goes out to Beth and everyone.
