It is a true site...I was one that was violently sexually abused by my Father and he was and probably still is an elder....He has been accused of molesting others in his congregation as well, but I have no eye witness proof of this....I just know that he was investigated by Child Protection.
I asked this same ques ton and it got taken down as a violation....Witness have called me a liar...without even knowing me...How can they know what they do not KNOW...
My answers that expose the abuse get taken down...That is why I have chosen the name that I have.
Abuse is rampant with the JW's and some day the media will get it out and I pray for that day....maybe some children can be saved from what I had to endure......
P.s.Silentlambs.org is not necessarialy an exJW site there are many people who are still Witnesses privately reporting abuse because the elders wil not do anything.
Deny Deny Deny...I worship at a Baptist church and I believe that there are evil Baptist people who can commit crimes against people.......That is so simple..NOT the God fearing JW"S...scary.
I am living proof that some Jehovah's Witnesses can and have molested Children, and then covered it up....and the witnesses that are on this site...not one have shown 1 iota of compassion to me...not one.
Ishvarlin.....Your comments are rediculous......Why do active JW's deny the committee process and hide it from the public...as far as defining ones self by the abuse....If telling my story and leaving myself open to being called a liar and an apostate, makes even 1 person watch their children closer, or better yet decide to do deep research into the WBTS or even BETTER yet..to Stay away completely, then I consider this part of my ministry.
I doubt that you were brutalized like I was, so it is very easy for you to sit there in the comfort of your home and pass judgement......do not holocost servivers label themselves to aide others to remimber the atrocities so as to keep it from re-occuring.....
LOOK at my collection of thumbs downs...for telling the TRUTH....

Hm, honest? Would you consider an "Ex" Catholic site an honest one, or an "Ex" Baptist or "Ex" anything?
"Line Dancer - how do you know its apostate???? Any facts? Knowledge is far better than assumption."
I'm sure you have learned that the person behind the site, Bill Bowen, was once one of Jehovah's Witnesses. He no longer is. He uses this site in an attempt to discredit Jehovah's Witnesses.
Could some of the information be truthful?
How do you decide what is and what isn't truthful?
One case for you to examine would be the Sarah Poisson/ Berry case.
Find the judge's ruling and then tell me siltentlambs is an honest site.

Honestly I try to avoid all sites that are angry, just my opinion. The reason I consider it to be "angry" is based on quotes I have seen from it, and based on people who post on it.
As for whether or not the site is truthful, honestly there are VERY few sites that are trustworthy. A sad fact of life is MANY people lie, even more so when they can be annonymous. So while some of the stories may sadly be true, a good number are probably false.
Also if someone was abused, I feel for them, they should handle it as needed, IE, if they want to be defined by it, then go ahead, if they simply need to address it, go ahead, if they choose to simply move on, go ahead. Posting accusations on the internet just seems.......sad. It is doubtful much good will come from random postings on the net.

Any organization with numerous members will have some among them that do terrible things, including the molestattion of Children. The question is not, "Does it occur?" BUT Rather, "How is it handled?"
Here is a quote from a news story that is an example of how elders handled the situation:
"ST. GEORGE — A man who walked into the Purgatory Jail and confessed to sexually abusing two girls has struck a plea deal with prosecutors.
Nestor Jesus Cabada, 37, pleaded guilty to a single count of sodomy on a child, a first-degree felony during a court appearance July 17 in 5th District Court. In exchange, Washington County prosecutors dismissed numerous other sex abuse counts.
Washington County sheriff's deputies said Cabada walked into the lobby of the Purgatory Jail in November 2006, asking to speak to someone immediately. When a deputy spoke to him, Cabada began confessing to sexually abusing two girls. ►►►He said his Jehovah's Witness clergy urged him to do it, to "get right with God."◄◄◄
Cabada is scheduled to be sentenced on Aug. 29."
Rather than cover it up, they encouraged him to turn himself in to the Police. See first link below.
For how Jehovah's Witnesses view this form and all forms of wickedness, see the second link below:

It's an honest site dude. I personally know a victim. It's just the result of their theology and beliefs and they protect the guilty and further abuse the victim. They don't want to bring any shame to their "jehovah" so they tell the victim not to tell the police. As a result the victims are seriously hurt and despretly need help but yet all they do is kick the victims. Just like that catholic church and mormons.
Notice how Linedancer, rockerchick0918, ladybird and trk are trying to redirect you to the watchtower site. They're trying to hide the truth.
It would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck, and he were thrown into the sea, than that he should offend one of these little ones. Luke 17:2

No Jehovah's Witness will tell you that a site such as silentlambs.org is truthful.
Jehovah's Witnesses believe that for a member of their congregation to be punished within the congregation, at least two witnesses of the crime (they must be two baptised members of the congregation) must testify against that member.
There are seldom such wittnesses in the case of child abuse. Therefore it is a rarity for a Jehovah's Witness accused of child abuse to be punished or disfellowshiped (excommunicated).
If the accuser takes the matter outside of the congregation, this is seen as bringing reproach on the name of Jehovah. If the accuser fails to 'repent' and cease revealing the abuse to the outside world, they themselves will be disfellowshipped. If once disfellowshipped, if the individual continues to speak about the abuse, they are termed an 'apostate‘.
Jehovah's Witnesses are forbidden to speak to or communicate with disfellowshipped ones or apostates. They will not visit ‘apostate’ sites nor read their literature. They believe such publications to be the lies of Satan.
Jehovah’s Witnesses proclaim silentlambs.org to be an apostate site. They will not visit it nor will they acknowledge if the abuse cases documented there are true. To them it is the work of Satan.
Whether they want to admit it or not abuse does occur within their congregations and is often unreported.

If you want to know the truth of what Jehovah's Witnesses believe, go to their official site www.watchtower.com.
Do you really think you will get honest answers from a site that is run by disgruntle ex-witnesses that give one sided views on the subject? There are many examples of their attitudes here on R&S. Such as saying we are brainwashed....because we avoid something that we know is of no benefit to us. Everyone has the choice to read and view what they want. If someone cautions you that pornograpy is harmful and you take the advise, are you being brainwashed?
I personally choose to avoid such negative sites. Their sole purpose is to discredit Jehovah's Witnesses.
Edit: If this website addresses varies abuse in different religions, why is your question only addressed to Jehovah's Witnesses?

I don't read apostate material. If I wanted facts about God, would I go to Satan to get the answers? Of course not.
How do I know it's apostate? The site was formed by an ex-witness who has gone back to vomit of the world. This person has re-embraced the falsehoods that he knew were wrong.
If I wanted to learn the truth about you, would I get accurate information from your worst enemy? Of course not! If I want truthful information about Jehovah's Witnesses, do you think I'd go to a site that is run by an ex-witness with a grudge against us? Absolutely not!

There's no reason for them to say they agree that it is a truthful site if they think it's not, just to prove they aren't "brainwashed." If the site speaks against the religion they believe in, of course they don't think it's truthful! Nothing wrong with that.

Dear WhatIf:
Years ago, when the Surgeon General repeatedly warned the public of the dangers and diseases associated with cigarette smoking, did anyone reasonably believe he was trying to cover up the dangers and protect the tobacco industry? No.
For decades, the customary practice of the Christian Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses has been to publish information educating people on the very real danger of child abuse; suggest practical ways to prevent child abuse; help inform people as to how to deal with child abuse if it does happen; and how to help handle the spiritual and emotional hurt it causes. This practice is NOT consistent with the allegations that the organization covers up such behavior and protects the sexual pedophiles. And it is certainly not consistent with the claim that the organization is a “pedophile’s paradise.”
Sexual abuse of children (or anyone for that matter) is despicable, disgusting, deplorable, reprehensible and is wholly inexcusable. We live in a world that is rampant with violence and sexual deviancy. It is naïve to think that such abhorrent behavior will never find its way into congregations of professed worshipers of God. Jehovah's Witnesses do not pretend that this does not happen in congregations. Neither do they "conspire to cover it up." Have there been cases mishandled? Yes, there has. Have some slipped through the cracks? No doubt. Have improvements in handling been made? Yes, there have. In truth, every single sin and perversion is now persistent and pervasive. It is undeniable that we live in a disgusting world. Is there a safe place? No. If there were, everybody would move there. And the abusers would be right behind them.
The Christian Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses handles such behavior in a congregational manner and in a legal manner and the two do not necessarily mirror one another. Notice this excerpt taken from the official website:
" Child abuse is abhorrent to us. This is in harmony with the principle recorded at Romans 12:9. Even one abused child is one too many. For decades The Watchtower and Awake! have featured articles to educate both Witnesses and the public regarding the importance and the need to protect children from child abuse. Among others, there was the article "Let Us Abhor What Is Wicked!" published in the January 1, 1997, issue of The Watchtower ; "Help for the Victims of Incest" in the October 1, 1983, Watchtower, "Your Child Is in Danger!", "How Can We Protect Our Children?", and "Prevention in the Home", all in the October 8, 1993, Awake!, as well as "Child Molesting—Every Mother's Nightmare," in the January 22, 1985, Awake!
When any one of Jehovah's Witnesses is accused of an act of child abuse, the local congregation elders are expected to investigate. Two elders meet separately with the accused and the accuser to see what each says on the matter. If the accused denies the charge, the two elders may arrange for him and the victim to restate their position in each other's presence, with elders also there. If during that meeting the accused still denies the charges and there are no others who can substantiate them, the elders cannot take action within the congregation at that time. Why not? As a Bible-based organization, we must adhere to what the Scriptures say, namely, "No single witness should rise up against a man respecting any error or any sin . . . At the mouth of two witnesses or at the mouth of three witnesses the matter should stand good." (Deuteronomy 19:15) Jesus reaffirmed this principle as recorded at Matthew 18:15-17. However, if two persons are witnesses to separate incidents of the same kind of wrongdoing, their testimony may be deemed sufficient to take action.
However, even if the elders cannot take congregational action, they are expected to report the allegation to the branch office of Jehovah's Witnesses in their country, if local privacy laws permit. In addition to making a report to the branch office, the elders may be required by law to report even uncorroborated or unsubstantiated allegations to the authorities. If so, we expect the elders to comply. Additionally, the victim may wish to report the matter to the authorities, and it is his or her absolute right to do so . . ." End quote.
If you truly want to know how it is handled, I strongly urge you to go to the official website and consider the remainder of the information provided by the Office of Public Information under the media section. But it is pointless for me to visit websites 'dedicated' to victims of abuse who at one time were Jehovah's Witnesses. Although it is undeniable that there are victims, it does no good to point fingers here and indulge in what can come dangerously close to slander and libel. There is no way for me to verify the accuracy of information contained on such sites as silent lambs. But even if I did visit the site, what purpose would it serve? Really? What purpose? There is no way to measure the accuracy or inaccuracy of such information. But the denunciations hurled there can be measured and they go fairly deep. Again, what is the point?
