It's up to you. No one can tell you what to believe or what's "right" or "wrong" to believe.

Personally I think you find what you look for - if you choose not to believe in God, you'll discount or ignore any "evidence" that s/he does exist; if you choose to believe, no proof is necessary. If you want to think God is a benevolent old dude with a flowing white beard, or a whimsical flying spaghetti monster, or an intangible universal life force, then you will respond most deeply to those images and find people who believe the same.

Most religions agree that an absolute, knowable proof of God is impossible for us to comprehend; therefore your belief matters more than the "truth." I recommend believing in whatever makes you happy, makes you a better person, and letting others do the same.

Personally, the more I look around at the natural wonders of the world, and see miraculous coincidences, and ponder the the power of the human spirit, the more I believe that there is *something* out there. Something wonderful, and I don't need to classify it.

God exists and their are thousands of stories to back it up. When you have accepted Jesus into your heart you can feel the difference. When I was 13 my parents split up, my brother tried committing suicide, and I lost 2 Grandpas, a Great Grandma, and an Uncle all in the same year. I was done with life and I didn't want to live anymore. I agreed to go to a Youth Convention with some old friends for a week, that week changed my life forever. I went to the service night after night and did everything I thought I should be doing to be polite. Until the last night the preacher seemed to be talking to me, everything he said hit home. I agreed to go up to the alter and thought i was just doing it to make everyone happy. I can't really say what all happened, but the next thing I knew it was just God and I. I told him everything, told him I couldn't handle life anymore I had lost everything and I didn't want to go on living. And he lifted it all off my shoulders, it was as if he asked me "Does this hurt?" and took the it. I cried for hours finally opening my eyes to be surrounded by a group of my Christian friends. I felt like a new person, and although none of my problems had changed I knew now that I had God to help me. I know now that God has been with me every day of my life catching my tears, and keeping me safe. I don't care what others may say about God not being real, I wasn't a very religious person before this. But I have felt him, and I have seen the miracles he works. He's the only reason I am here today.

I believe that primitive, bronze age tribesmen who originally created gods did so in an attempt to explain all of the wonders they were witnessing. In reality, I think the explanation is a bit more mundane, but just as fantastic. I believe that the gods our the ancients were extra terrestrial intelligences. Even in the bible there are many stories that have ufo's in them. For instance, the Isrealites were led through the desert by a 'pillar of smoke by day and of fire by night. That sounds like a semi-stationary rocket powered craft to me. Something completely beyond the ability of primitive man to define, and currently beyond our own technological ability. In the story of Elisha being carried to heaven by a 'chariot of fire', you have to remember that the chariot was the only vehicle at the time that was a designated exclusively as a passenger transport. Also, the biblical definition of heaven was 'sky or beyond', that which we, as advanced, modern man knows as low earth orbit. Even the crusifiction was made possible through very advanced technology. The christ was nailed up, sedated, then taken away to the eti's and their advanced medical technology so that he could 'reappear' 3 days later. Our primitive ancestors related these experiences through historians as best they could. Many of the events that took place were beyond their ability to comprehend because their technological level prevented complete understanding. That is why we don't see any gods or verifiable 'miracles' today. We, as advanced man, would be able to properly identify not only how, but more importantly, who. I believe that our species was bioengineered by eti's and given dominion over this planet as a direct result of our thirst for knowledge. The story of the 'exile from eden' is a parable. Christians see it as punishment for disobediance, I see it as a reward for passing the final test of 'do you want knowledge or ignorance regardless of consequence'. Read Erich von Danikken's 'Chariots of the Gods'. I hope this gives you the strenth to resist religious indoctrination. I took a decade for me to cast off the yoke of servitude toward religion, but nevermore will I be bound. Here are a few good websites that you may find useful: www.evilbible.com, www.atheistempire.com, www.landoverbaptist.com. I hope this helps you to keep your mind in the real world instead of a fantacy. Man made gods in his own image.

There is a higher power or God. It is not female nor male but a omnipotent presence that protects us and guides us.
an unconditionally Loving Higher Power exists with whom the individual being can personally communicate. A Higher Power that is so powerful that it has no need to judge the humans it created because this Universal Force is powerful enough to ensure that everything unfolds perfectly from a Cosmic Perspective.

This reintroduction of the revolutionary concept of an accessible Loving God has been clarified to specifically include the concept that the individual being can define this Universal Force according to his/her own understanding, and can develop a personal, intimate relationship with this Higher Power.

In other words, no one is needed as an intermediary between you and your creator. No outside agency has the right to impose upon you its definition of God.

May I suggest a book, if you are really seeking truth.
Mere Christianity by C.S. Lewis. It presents the rational arguments for the existence of God before even mentioning the bible or any doctrine. You might enjoy it.

We can't explain the beginning of the universe mathematically.

That is the only reason I think A god may exist.

Proof of God: You, me, everyone else, the Earth, the wind, the flowers, the ocean, etc. You have to believe and have faith. To believe in something is so important. Even if you don't believe in the God I believe, fine something or someone. There's no worse feeling than feeling alone. When you believe, you feel complete and whole. Best of luck in finding yourself!

Find a quiet place to meditate on the wonder of everything around you - like Big Sur in California. Feel GOD there and in every minute you set aside to pay attention.

I have yet to see evidence that there is one. I have tried in the past yet logic and common sense always overrule any blind faith into one of the midieval cults (religions) out there.
