Christianity, Judaism and Islam are all major religions. They all have a holy book, and strong beliefs about their God. All of these religions were formed long ago. There are many similarities between all of them.
Judaism helped form Christianity. Long ago, before Jesus was born, Judaism was the main belief in the Middle East. Jesus formed a new religion called Christianity with help from God. Then in A.D. 570 Muhammad formed Islam. Jewish people (Jews) holy book is the Torah. They believe that God gave them the Ten Commandments through Moses. Abraham founded this religion and helped spread it. Like Christians, Jews fast at certain times of the year.
Christianity is the most popular religion in the world. The top-selling book every year is almost always the bible. A Jew named Jesus spread Christianity. Christians believe in the Ten Commandments through Jesus like the Jews do. The holy book for Christians is the bible.
A person named Muhammad founded Islam in A.D. 570. The holy book for Islam's is the Quran. "Allah" is the Islamic word for God. Islam's have five pillars that they follow, which our kind of like the Ten Commandments. The five pillars tell you when to pray and worship Allah.
I think that understanding that we all believe in one God, a holy book, and a list of things expected from us is very important. If everyone understood that our religions today would not be what they are if they weren't influenced by many other religions, then I think we might stop having wars over religions! I believe that it is important that we respect others religions. If everyone just sat down for a second and thought about how all religions are alike, we would all have a better understanding of each other.

Judaism is the religion of the Jews. The Jews wanted to keep their religion to themselves. The Jewish god is fearsome, and readily punished disobedient people. Jesus brought Judaism to the Gentiles. I am not sure if Jesus called himself the son of God. Anyhow, the Christians inserted Jesus into Judaism as the son of God, and added a lot of "softness". The son is a lot kinder and approachable.
Mohamed introduced a new religion to the Arab country where the people were still idol worshipers at that time. Islam rejected the Christian idea of Trinity and a god who died for the sin of humans. Islam borrowed heavily from Judaism also. Islam's god is the same god of Abraham. Abraham, Moses, and Jesus were considered as former prophets. So both Christianity and Islam came from Judaism.
There is one big difference between Islam and the other two religions. Islam considers that humans are born good. Allah judges people on their actions in their entire life. For most people, the hell is not an eternal punishment.

Think of religion like Sci-Fi movies and series. The ones in which Islam, Judaism, and Christianity are the Star Wars universe, but different followings on the story with different people it's focused on. One group believes Sidius to be a good guy uniting the universe at the sacrifice of his image and life. Another believes he was a straight up bad guy and had no real relevance beyond the plot point where he died. And the last group thinks the whole event was un-purposeful and the events taken after it were far more interesting. While different points of views, it's all the same religion.

Judaism, Christianity and Islam are all same religion. These are 'set of rules' assigned by God for human to follow in their lives. Moses, Christ, Muhammad all are teachers sent by God to teach human those same rules. Christianity is not the name of a religion. The religion preached by Christ is termed as Christianity. Judaism is not also name of a religion. It is an adjective. Christians, Jews and others sometimes try to term Islam as Muhamedan religigion. Muhamedan is not the name of religion. Moses, Christ, Muhammad and all other teachers(prophets) preached the same religion which is selected for mankind by the creator. Name of that religion is Islam. So, it is obvious that, all religions preached by God's messengers must be simmilar except deviations done by some greedy people.

All three main monotheistic religions have a common root in that they all believe in the same God. In fact, they all believe in the same creative elements and early days of procreation and expansion, right up until the time of Abraham (commonly called the Father of Three Faiths). Even large chunks of Scripture are the same. The Jewish faith has the Tanakh, consisting of the books you would find in the Old Testament, Christians use the Old Testament as well as the writings of the Gospels and church letters that are found in the New Testament, while Muslims have many names and stories from both Hebrew and Christian Scriptures in the Qur'an.
In order of age, the Jewish faith is the oldest, followed by Christianity and then finishing with Islam in the 7th century CE.

judaism, christianity, then islam.
but islam doesn't come form christianity, becuase we don't believe that jesus is the son of god, which is the basis of their religion. islam is similar to judaism. and christianity is also similar to juadaism. becuase after all jesus was a jew. but i don't see many similarities b/w islam and christianity. there are some w/ the coptic christians and other christians who are natively from the middle east, but not w/ the ones from america and europe who keep on coming up w/ new sects of it. and the bible changes alot and the quran can't be changed, and i don't think the torah can either, but it is against islam to change the quran to fit your needs, but it isn't against christianity to do so. and that is a HUGE difference

eAll the religions are from one source. As God created air water and food etc necessary for physical growth of mankind;similarly he revealed codes of life to the prophets best suited for the mankind for that particular time according to need of human beings;as such the religious teaching have a continuity of logic at source but later on with the passage of time the new codes became necessary and the old codes lost their validity and became redundent, still they retained some of the original values. If studied in details all the religions even that of abrogines and the semetic religions i.e. Islam, Christainity and Judaism have commonalities. This has been studied and explained in depth by Hazrat Mirza Tahir Ahmed Head of the Ahmeddiyya Community in Islam in his epoch making book"Knowledge, Reason, Rationality and Reveletion"(www.alislam.org) that how the reveletion is modulating the conduct of human intellectual growth.

Judaism and Islam are similar in that they worship one G-d and Muslims follow many Jewish laws. Christianity is not like either Judaism or Islam.

God chose the Isrealites to be his people, starting with the patriarch Abraham and through his descendents in the line of his son Isaac. They were later known as the Jews, and this is the race that Jesus belonged to. Jesus came to warn the Jews that God was going to open the door to the Gentiles (anyone not Jewish) and in fact the OT asks the Jews to be 'a light to the Gentiles,' drawing them to Him. The Jews, largely, were not looking for a 'gentle' messiah, so they rejected Jesus, or Christ. Those who did believe and followed him were known as Christians (Acts 11:26).
So Jews and Christians agree on the same God but the Jews reject Jesus as God, and Jesus says he is the only way to the Father.
As for the muslims, they trace their ancestry to Ismael, Abrahamsa illegitimate child. They believe Mohammed to be the last and greatest prophet of God, and that Jesus was a prophet but not God. They believe the Bible has been 'changed' to support the christian viewpoint. Many people think the christian God and the Muslim Allah are not the same, but I have not researched enough to make a judgment and I have no desire to put down anyone else's belief system.

Judaism came about the same time christianity and Islam after Christianity did. Christ Jesus spoke about the Pharisees/Publicans negatively and Prophet Muhammad peace be with him wrote of Christ Jesus as a man who perform miracles. But all 3 differ to what they wanted to accomplish and that is belief in One God. What their distinct differences are faith and belief to what true religion is.
