You should reword your question to say what you actually mean.

Why do some men (and women)...ahh screw it

Why do some people have no concept of family values?

Answer...family values are passed down from generation to generation. Parents stopped being parents. Incest abuse is skyrocketing. How do you learn family values from that? Spare the rod, spoil the child. Show me a kid that never got spanked, and I'll show you an unholy terror.

I have family values. I have an 8 month old girl. She will be totally safe with me and my wife, and she will be taught to be respectful and kind without getting pushed around by the people with no values.

Most men have a good handle on the "Family values" idea.
It's only those that listen to the far left liberal pundits that think it's okay to knock up a woman and then disappear from that child's life.
Also, it could be that they are simply living what they see on TV. Where it's okay to be a single parent, and as long as it's not them, then what the hey?

Most of the shows on TV show single moms making it good, all the while dissing the men who they slept with.

Those could be the reasons.

I always find that when people mean family values, they are talking about it in terms of values invented that revolve around disciplinearian practices.
Such as following parents orders, and respecting elders and so on.

Of course, it could also mean helping others, giving care and support to other people who need it and not being fussy about who people are so long as it is not in a way that causes harm.
It should be respect to everyone and thier rights.
It should be about supporting each other, not yelling and dominating each other by spanking and threatening, or beating each other up and trying to be a control freak.

If your talking old fashioned values, then really so called 'family values' never really existed.

Either they haven't been taught any morals or they just don't care. Probably immature themselves, which would automatically make them irresponsible. In many instances, they did not have responsible male role models, and that is sad. Why don't you become a big brother yourself, you sound like a caring person? This is what society needs. More people that care. That is if you are a guy.

For the last several generations, most have had no real concept of family values in their lives, so how could they show them in their lives?

Are you saying that some us men think with the little head rather than the big head?
