"I watched as he opened the sixth seal. There was a great earthquake. The sun turned black like sackcloth made of goat hair, the whole moon turned blood red, and the stars in the sky fell to earth, as late figs drop from a fig tree when shaken by a strong wind. The sky receded like a scroll, rolling up, and every mountain and island was removed from its place."
(Revelations 6:12-14)

I know that Mormons do baptisms for the dead as well as endowments and marriages. My question is this: If your parents were not legally married but lived together their whole adult life, could you still do temple work for them? What are the restrictions on this?

Evolution works best when it is guided. If a blind man tried to solve a Rubik's cube, and he made one move a second, the Universe would be over before he got it solved. But if a sighted man who knew how to solve it, stood behind him and told him what moves to make, it could be solved in a few minutes. Unguided evolution would take too long to create a Life form as sophisticated as a Blue Whale or a Human. The Universe would be over first, but if evolution is guided it can be done.

. So Moses the servant of the LORD died there in the land of Moab, according to the word of the LORD. 6 And He buried him in a valley in the land of Moab, opposite Beth Peor; but no one knows his grave to this day. 7. Moses was one hundred and twenty years old when he died. His eyes were not dim nor his natural vigor diminished. Deuteronomy 34:5-7.if Moses wrote the books of Moses how can He say about Himself that He died? did He resurrect also and say 'I died when I was hundred and twenty years old'?

Does anyone believe this to be true, and if so, why - is it because women have the potential to give birth to babies who may grow up to be men who wage wars against eachother, sleep with 9 year olds and beat their wives?

If the term "sinner" applies to everyone, then why the need to accusatorily and maliciously call people sinners? For example, someone gets caught having premarital sex (shudder), then someone might say, "You immoral sinner!", "You're living in sin!" or something along those lines. Isn't it a little redundant? Why the need to differentiate between one "sinner" and another?

I don't try to get peope deleted for being prozionist. You can be pro or anti. It's a free country. Why do so many Jews think they have a right to persecute anyone who disagrees with them? We're not talking ethnic slurs here, just criticism. I can criticise the situation in Palestine,or jewish organisations. Where did they get this idea they are supposed to be above criticism? What was done to our dear penguin is pretty much the last straw in my book. Opinions?

I dont get it.

Go into any fundie bookstore and thats all thats in there.

I know some will claim that everything they believe is from the bible but its not, its from some pastor.

Further what is the problem with following doctrine other than the bible. The bible isint God, it isint all of God. The church existed 300 years before the bible was formed and drew on techings and letters that are not in the bible.

No where is the bible does it say it is the sole authority. In fact is says tradition and teachings of church fathers are as equal to the bible and are to be used to interpret it.

Maybe thats why there ate 35,000 protestant denominations. Remember Jesus said you would know his followers because they are one.

Clearly he meant that Evangelicals were not his true followers (maybe a possible offshoot) but its clear that Catholics are the one true chruch.
Also stop riddiculing Jesus Mother, If you did it to mine I would kick your a@@ so just wait till you meet christ

Just came back from the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens where we spent the afternoon looking at the flowers and taking pictures (5 rolls of film). We took turns with my camera, exchanging lens' and filters with the hopes that we'll get at least one usable photo. There will be plenty, I'm sure. She's a good photogragher. The really good thing about it all was that we were looking for pics to blow up and give to my son and his girlfriend for their new apartment. Life, at times, does not get simpler, nor better.

Mickey Mouse evolves too. Once he could not speak. Now he can. Once he was only in black and white. Now he is in color. Once he didn't have pupils. Now he does. Now he is becoming interactive. Each generation of Mickey Mouse is a little different, a little better. Mutations and change are occurring as Mickey Mouse and other cartoons adapt to the changing environment of media. But it doesn't happen without DISNEY.

In my opinion, if you have to be threatened into behaving yourself:
1) You must have no real desire to act morally at all and you are just doing it because you have to.
2) You don't understand the concept of altruism.
3) If there were some deity watching over your shoulder and reading your mind, wouldn't he know that you were only following the rules to avoid punishment? Wouldn't he (it) find that even more morally reprehensible than being evil and honest?
