Understandable.

God is the Father, the son, and the Holy Spirit.

There is no God without Jesus. There is no God without the Holy Spirit. There is no God without the Father. God is One, who transformed Himself to help His created.

According to the Bible, we can't see the Father, because He is spirit. Jesus also is God, but we can see Him without being blinded. I'm sure at the feast above the cloud during the last days, people will view Jesus as physical. The Holy Spirit is a spirit. The Holy Spirit can enter and move people. People can also see the Holy Spirit, unlike being able to see the Father. Now all of them equal one God. No one is greater than the other. All three are equal.

God is spirit with the ability to make a human from Himself(Jesus)who came down to earth. (This actually reminds me of when God created Eve from part of Adam.)~So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him, male and female He created them.-Gen 1:27

Jesus IS God and we look like Him. Jesus did not look like a cat or a wierd object.

John 4:24- "God is a Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth."

The image is metaphysical not physical. Although there are some anthropomorphisms in the Bible (God's hand etc.) these are not to be taken literally (or we would have to believe God has feathers [Psalm 91:4]!). Most theologians believe the image of God (Genesis 1:26, James 3:9) refers to faculties such as self awareness, rationality, and volitional capability. This "imago dei" has been distorted through the fall but it has not been utterly destroyed (as James 3:9 affirms).

The Bible teaches that God is a Spirit. The Hebrew word in Genesis that is translated as "image" is the same word used for an idol. In other words, mankind was created to be physical beings who represented God here on earth. That was before sin came in and messed everything up.

"In the image if God" is obviously a metaphor for the qualities God possesses. The Bible says "no man can see God and live". We must assume God to be able to manifest a physical form, but throughout the Bible, he had Angels and messengers act as intermediaries. He showed only a passing second of His glory to Moses on Mt. Sinai, and it made Moses' face glow and his hair instantly turn white, indicating some sort of radiation in spite of God shielding him from the "full glory".

Ok, God IS a person. He is NOT, however, human, but he IS a person. The Bible is full of passages referring to Him with ears, eves, hands, arms, feet, face, a back, mouth, etc. here are some verses:

'My own hand laid the foundations of the earth, and my right hand spread out the heavens' -Isaiah 48:13

'Then the Lord said, "There is a place near me where you may stand on a rock. When my glory passes by, I will put you in a cleft in the rock and cover you with my hand until I have passed by. Then I will remove my hand and you will see my back but my face will not be seen' --Exodus 33:21-23 (He is talking to Moses)

Also, here are some great verses that I love:
The name of the Lord is a strong tower, the righteous run to it and are safe. -Proverbs 18:10

The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not be in want. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he restores my soul. He guides me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake. - Psalms 23:1-3
hope this helps!!

Good question! I am still working on this. I think it means our ability to feel emotions. The scriptures say God is love. God feels anger, compassion and etc. Since nothing was without God, even those emotions are one of His creations or His being. I don't believe He is subjected to those emotions as we are but they are part of Him. thus we are made in His image.

God is not physical. To be made in God's image means to be made in the "likeness" of him.

1) God is Spirit. Holy Scripture is clear.

2) The word "image" was translated in the Greek Septuagint as "ikon"...think of it more as "spiritual imprint".

To be made in God's image simply means we have attributes similar to His. He has compassion, we have compassion. He loves, we also love. He gets angry and, yes, you guessed it....we get angry as well. God hates certain things and we do too. etc. I hope this was helpful.
