I am a female. I have been really looking at things that have been happening in the world. It is not always possible to stay at home for all women. What I have noticed that if women weren't in the work place there wouldn't be all these affairs going on. Marriages wouldn't be breaking up, and there would be more happy families. God did intend for the wife to stay at home and raise the children. But she also does many things. Not just stay at home and watch TV. She is to teach the children, and to take care of the household. Read Proverbs 31. No woman can do all that, but we can try.

If a Pastor said that ALL women should be home with their children and not working I would disagree with him. If he said that it was generally in God's will for women to be housekeepers then he would have Scripture to back him up on that one.
Titus 2:3 Older women likewise are to be reverent in behavior, not slanderers or slaves to much wine. They are to teach what is good, 4 and so train the young women to love their husbands and children, 5 to be self-controlled, pure, working at home, kind, and submissive to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be reviled.

I would tell him that in the Bible, it says that every child of God has his/her own path to follow, which is determined by God. God wants all of His children to be happy, and He has a plan for all of us. Women tend to be more loving, forgiving, and nurturing than men, which is why we make good mothers...that doesn't necessarily mean that God intended for you to be a mother, or a housewife. For many women, that is the role that they were meant to fill, and they do it beautifully. Other women were meant to play other roles. I know that I'm supposed to go out into the world and doctor those who need it, in addition to having a family. There's nothing wrong with whatever path a woman follows in life, as long as she believes that it's what God intended for her.

I would lead him to the book of Proverbs.
In it, the godly woman is described, and believe me, when you read it, you will have a new respect for what a woman needs to live up to.
She buys land and sells it at a profit, she sews and sells her work to others, she cooks, she cleans and she raises children. THere is more, but I think you get the picture.

Why must we be told what we should and should not do by a religious leader? Can't we think for ourselves? Why must women stay home with the children? What about what we want? I am will not slave away at home if I don't want to. End of story.

When men worked and took care of their families and women stayed at home and took care of their children the world was a better place. The divorce rate was low, kids were not taking guns to school and killing one another, on and on I could fill up the page with examples as to why women should stay home.
The Bible says that men should love their wives as Christ lovede the church and gave Himself for it!!!
If the men of todays society would do their job and people would not be so covetous of worldly thing, boats, new cars, big houses, etc. women could stay at home once again.
Men of America LOVE YOUR FAMILIES!!!

It sounds like he is trying to go strictly by the Bible. But in these days some women have to be the mother and father. God will never put more on us than we can bear. Ask him if the church is willing to pay your bills.

I'd say that it's up to the individual family. It's not his business. He's supposed to preach the Word not his own beliefs.
