Namaste

Someone asked me what I would recommend as the best English translation for The Ramayana.

I do not have one to recommend. Since I promised I would get back to him with some information, I am wondering if you have you would recommend. If you would be so kind, would you please say why you like it?

Thank you ever so much

we are in Church worshiping the Lord and at home when she worships in private. Personally, I think it is awesome. What do you think? Is it a good addiction?

P.S. Whenever she is done she is so full of joy - it's like she is drunk. Seriously.

I answered a question that asked "Has prayer ever worked for you?" With "No, it never has." This is the truth.

I used to pray a lot, when I was young and trying to appeal to the Christian god and get Jesus to "come into my heart," like all my Christian friends told me I should. I was very sincere about it, if ever a little girl was ready to be touched by the holy spirit, I was. But I never heard or felt a thing. Nothing I prayed for ever came to pass.

Yet I got a thumbs down for my truthful answer. Why?

I hear so many people talk as if they know what another faith is all about. But most times they don't really know any more than what they randomly heard and have no real knowledge, experience, or studies about that other faith.

Unfair. I notice that some people just go down the list and thumb down everyone.

How unoriginal of him.
Did he hear the story about Ea warning Utnapishtim of an impending world wide flood and to build an ark to save his family and all the animals?
Why can't Yahweh come up with original ways of committing genocide?

To those who are not followers of Jesus Christ I would request your forgivness on my behalf and all those who have misrepresented who God is. Know this, regardless of how we speak or act. God still Loves you.

When the floodgates of heaven were opened and rain started soaking atheists why did they start banging on Noahs door? Couldn't they just take it as it came?

How do you know for sure, did you see it with your own eyes? No, you have faith that it is the truth because of eye-witness accounts.

Why do some people keep demanding evidence of Christ's existence? We already have recorded eye-witness accounts of his existence. Why are they disregarded by many people? There was no question of their truth 50-100 years after they were written, and the original Gospel manuscripts did not have any contradictions.

But yet again, even Peter denied knowing Christ 3 times.

If our calendar is based on Jesus' supposed birth date, then why isn't the date of his birth classed as 1st of January. Therefore when it was 23rd December year 0, what was the date according to those people around. This is not an anti religious question, as I believe in God. Just querying the makers of the calendar system. I hope you understand what I'm trying to get at.

Pastafarianism is a parody religion. Parody religions are a significant and legitimate aspect of the phenomena of religion in the U. S. culture: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parody_religion.

I totally disagree that "customer care had to remove this question." If it violated the community guidelines, than the community guidelines are wrong.

First of all, some of us put some time into answering even seemingly silly questions. Our time should be respected. Second, these kinds of questions are funny and light hearted. If some of the answers get out of hand, censure the answers do not delete the whole question and disrespect those of us who put some time into responding.

And it is not the points. It the time spent and the damage to the openness of this forum.

they well know from the Bible that God doesn't forgive all sins, consider When the sacred Ark was brought up from Beth-shemesh after its disastrous seven-month sojourn among the Philistines, it was deposited in the home of Abinadab, and his son Eleazar was sanctified to guard it. Here in this home the Ark remained for some 70 years, until David arranged to transfer it to Jerusalem. During the transfer another of Abinadab’s sons, Uzzah, dropped dead in his tracks when Jehovah’s anger blazed against him, because of his touching the Ark in disregard of the command at Numbers 4:15.—1Sa 6:20–7:1; 2Sa 6:1-7; 1Ch 13:6-10.

(Hebrews 10:26) 26 For if we practice sin willfully after having received the accurate knowledge of the truth, there is no longer any sacrifice for sins left. . .

They claim that Catholics blindly agree with the above. However the teaching of these people is based on 2000 years of church history and tradition (which the bible commends)

Yet in the same breath they have no problem in agreeing with the teachings of their own Pastor. Who often is uneducated but they presume he has a hotline directly to God.

Further that pastor will often listen to senior pastors and movement leaders (ie.Ted Haggert)

Doesnt that sound a little bit phoney.

Evangelicals do the very thing the bible comands not to and that is to use the bible as the sole source of authority and interpret it in light of itself.

So in effect they are all disobeying God.

I've seen a lot of people laying claim to the hebrew stating that this originally meant poisoner and not witch.. the actual word is "sorcerer" and not poisoner. Sorry folks, can't skirt this one with attempting to rewrite Hebrew. There is no word for poisoner in ancient hebrew. But, nice try.. next time, study out hebrew first, and don't believe everything you read on an internet site. Your thoughts?

I have a mild addiction to pornography. It's something that I've been working on overcoming with Christ. Recently, my christian group of friends has become more open about their own struggles with pornography, or at least the men have. My question is, should I share my own addiction publicly with the group in the interests of accountability and honesty, or would it be immodest, and a point of temptation for the men in the group?
