They claim that Catholics blindly agree with the above. However the teaching of these people is based on 2000 years of church history and tradition (which the bible commends)

Yet in the same breath they have no problem in agreeing with the teachings of their own Pastor. Who often is uneducated but they presume he has a hotline directly to God.

Further that pastor will often listen to senior pastors and movement leaders (ie.Ted Haggert)

Doesnt that sound a little bit phoney.

Evangelicals do the very thing the bible comands not to and that is to use the bible as the sole source of authority and interpret it in light of itself.

So in effect they are all disobeying God.

You have made good points, but I would say evangelicals don't realize that's what they were doing. I say this as a former evangelical who is now Catholic. I can clearly see that there is little or no difference between the way evangelicals treat their pastors (and "celebrity pastors") and the way we treat our priests (and bishops and the Holy Father).

Some people prefer to hate Catholicism rather than learn what it's all about.

Not all evangelicals have problems with the Catholic church, just some. It is the same with the 25% ish of evangelical christians who wouldn't vote for Mitt Romney solely because he is Mormon.
If we are to desire harmoney and equality in religious discussion we cannot generalize.

I am sorry, but there is only ONE 'Holy Father' and that Is G-d Himself. Further error is that the pope thinks HE is the 'vicar' of our L-rd Jesus the Christ.

The ONE Church / ONE Body of Christ is not the Catholic Church, but the whole Body of Believers in Christ Jesus as L-rd and Savior. The Bible as G-d's Holy Word, One Baptism for remission of sins, etc.

Jesus the Christ, and all the Disciples were not 'catholics'; they were devout Jews and never denounced that religious belief. So, if you want to get technical; the position of pope has not been around for two thousand years.

Our 'hotline' as you call it, is directly to G-d, in the form of prayers and answers to those prayers.

Thats nonsense. What is everyones problem on here with so-called fundamentalists and evangelicals?? Most people just want to look up to someone in Christian authority who leads a holy life and has a relationship with God. I think that crosses denominations - to anyone with integrity that is.

Probably because, while evangelicals consider themselves to be the true Christians, there's this *huge* worldwide organization that dates back almost a couple of thousand years claiming the same thing.

Evangelicals are the biggest self-righteous jerks that exist. They are very anti-Catholic and many see the Church as the "whore of Babylon". They don't respect Catholics and I'm tired of people here defending them.

The Katholik church places their church doctrines or teachings of men, equal or greater than the Word of God, which is the Bible alone.
