Pastafarianism is a parody religion. Parody religions are a significant and legitimate aspect of the phenomena of religion in the U. S. culture: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parody_religion.
I totally disagree that "customer care had to remove this question." If it violated the community guidelines, than the community guidelines are wrong.
First of all, some of us put some time into answering even seemingly silly questions. Our time should be respected. Second, these kinds of questions are funny and light hearted. If some of the answers get out of hand, censure the answers do not delete the whole question and disrespect those of us who put some time into responding.
And it is not the points. It the time spent and the damage to the openness of this forum.

Alder_Titer_Galaz: That customer care deleted the question was a quote from the explanation why that specific question was deleted. Is there another way to check?

Ray Patterson: Why shouldn't parody religions be laughed at? Is that not the point? My whole point is that religions that created to be funny are a serious part of the religious environment. I am all for taking them seriously--even if that is a contradiction in terms.

I agree with you wholeheartedly. It is my considered opinion that the whole ya guidelines need overhauling.

as a member of a so-called "parody religion" (I think the term is a bit of a joke, how do you decide which religions are parodies?), I agree, we do belong here. You may find our answers funny, but that is no reason to make fun of us. We find your answers funny as well. Oh well, Bokonon himself already said that people would mock us:
So I said good-bye to government,
And I gave my reason:
That a really good religion
Is a form of treason.
and in fact he was in favor of outlawing Bokononism himself, which of course I think is scandalous. I mean I agree it is the only way to get people to believe in it, but why should people believe in it? It is all a bunch of foma (lies) anyway...
edit: no, the point of a parody religion is exactly the same as that of any other religion, to explain how the universe works and what our role in them is. The only difference is perhaps that we know our explanations are funny, and that they are made up on the spot, or just for laughs. Indeed I don't object people making fun of Bokononism, in fact I encourage it. What I don't like if people make fun of me, simply because I'm a Bokononist. No wait, that's not true either. It is ridiculous to be a Bokononist. OK, you're right, it is a reason to make fun of us. My bad... I guess I was taking it a little too seriously.

Generally only the one who made the answer can do that. If the conection is broken the same thing can happen. So check it first before thinking in that customer care do that.
Religion is a serious matter for most people, even for some non believers because it is about something vital in the life of many people so consider that.

yes,but Rastafarains are a) a minority, and b) black. So it reeks of ethnic bigotry. Find another model to satirize. Try Judaism.
