Did he hear the story about Ea warning Utnapishtim of an impending world wide flood and to build an ark to save his family and all the animals?
Why can't Yahweh come up with original ways of committing genocide?

Sun - Yes, you are absolutely right. I should have done that. I sometimes make the foolish mistake of believing that the people who read these questions are somewhat educated.

All men are descendants of Noah's sons.
All have the same past.
Some failed to record the story accurately, just as hey failed to retain he knowledge of Yahweh, and fell into idolatry and foolishness.

18The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of men who suppress the truth by their wickedness, 19since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. 20For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse.
21For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. 22Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools

First, Noah was not Jewish. According to the story in the old testament, the flood preceded Judaism by a few hundred years.

Secondly. the term yahweh is a scholarly term referring to the hebrew notation for God or supreme being. That notation is a string of vowels that actually cannot be accurately pronounced. Yahweh referrs to that notation, not the god idea behind it. No jewish denomination, scholar or rabbi has ever referred to God as "Yahweh".

I think the real question is why did the ancient Jewish people steal/borrow the idea of the flood from the Babylonians, right?

There's lots of stuff, that I am sure you know, in the Bible that has predecessors in other religions/cultures. But that is ok, I quess.

Nearly every culture relates a story of a universal flood.
This testifies to the truth of the story.
The difference between the Bible account and every other account is that the Bible account is presented from a first hand witness - Yahweh, the God of the Bible

When you ask these questions you have to make it clear that the Babylonians existed long before the old testament says the Earth was created. They really don't know that and it affects their answers.

Almost every culture has a worldwide flood story. It doesn't make the Bible untrue. Heck, even if it wasn't historical, it doesn't make the message of the Bible untrue.

It's funny that you guys who take pot shots at Christianity make fun of the Bible as a work of fiction, then start talking about the Bible as if God wrote it because it's convenient for you. I know you don't believe in the book, who cares. These pot shots show you to be just as hypocritical and ignorant as you claim Christians to be.

Yahweh said the ark came to rest on Mount Ararat.
It's still there today. NASA has a folder in their files marked "Noah's Ark", with satellite photos.

You impute guilt against Yahweh because He said He was responsible for the flood, but you say He stold the story from someone else?
Your logic is as flawed as your heart is twisted.

He didn't steal the idea from anyone. He ended the world in Noah's day by a flood, except for Noah, his wife, 3 sons and their wives. After the human race multiplied, the Babylonian's and Greeks and all other nations followed. The destruction by a flood became a common theme to almost all religion's that followed. Therefore, he did not "steal" the idea, it was passed down by Noah's descendants.
