Wrong god? Wrong requests? Wrong format, spelling, address? What's the problem?

2007-07-18 23:58:59 · 16 answers · asked by Anonymous

actaully consider this before you just throw the "god is the way" stuff.

If I start with the mind first, we are currently using what 10% or so of our brain? combine that with all the various problems some people are born with, etc the human body is an amazing thing, but it is flawed.

now think about going to buy your new car, it's all nice and shinny and your talking to the saleman who tells you something like
"yup its a brilliant car, with this that and the other" it goes on you get to asking about the engine "ah it's an amazing thing, altho only 10% of the engine actually works"
lets face it you would not be buying a car where only a percentage of it works.

So if evolution is a hoax with all that rubbish called evidence, it means that we will not develop further than we are now, if this is the case, you have to admit that god made a flawed creation in us.

Two parents mentioned in my newspaper today wish to withold lifesaving treatment for their daughter in favour of waiting for a miracle.
The judge has ordered the treatment to go ahead though he says he respects the parents beliefs.
Would you put such faith in your god? Why not?
Do such beliefs deserve respect? Or harsh criticism?

All things dull and ugly,
all creatures short and squat.
All things rude and nasty,
the Lord God made the lot.

Each little snake that poisons,
each little wasp that stings.
He made their brutish venum,
he made their horrid wings.

All things sick and cancerous
All evil great and small.
All things foul and dangerous,
the Lord God made them all.

Each nasty little hornet,
each beastly little squid,
Who made the spiny urchin?
Who made the sharks? He did!!

All things scabbed and ulcerous,
all pox both great and small.
Putrid foul and gangrenous,
the Lord God made them all.

Amen

Historical facts reveal that Assyrian destroyed Jerusalem in 587 BC. 50,000 Israelis were captured and driven to Neshapur ( Afghanistan & Khurasan ).

Pushtoon of Afghanistan claim to be the decentents of 10 Israeli tribes.

A three member delegate reached Betlaham from the East (Afghanistan) to trace Jesus Christ but it was too early to talk with baby Jesus. NT tell us that this delegation presented their offerings and promised to retun at a reasonable time. Jesus Christ could not find them due to cruscification.

Mulla Umar and his Pushtoon compaions- The Taliban claim to be the decendents of Benei Israel?

As we all know that Taliban are the Fundamental Muslims and rigid in their faith of Islam.

Can Jews dare to accept them as their old brothers??

Why are we here?
What's life all about?
Is God really real, or is there some doubt?
Well, tonight, we're going to sort it all out,
For tonight it's 'The Meaning of Life'.

What's the point of all this hoax?
Is it the chicken and the egg time?
Are we just yolks?
Or perhaps we're just one of God's little jokes.
Well ça c'est le 'Meaning of Life'.

Is life just a game where we make up the rules,
While we're searching for something to say,
Or are we just simply spiralling coils
Of self-replicating DNA. (Nay, nay, nay, nay, nay, nay)

In this 'life', what is our fate?
Is there Heaven and Hell? Do we reincarnate?
Is mankind evolving, or is it too late?
Well, tonight, here's 'The Meaning of Life'.

For millions, this 'life' is a sad vale of tears,
Sitting 'round with rien nothing to say
While the scientists say we're just simply spiralling coils
Of self-replicating DNA. (Nay, nay, nay, nay, nay, nay).

So, just why-- why are we here,
And just what-- what-- wh

Why is that? Maybe it's just the ones I've talked to... I mean young earth creationists, anyways, they're the one's I've talked to, I don't know about the old earth creationists... Maybe they actually give sources for their claims... (Ex: the fossil record is flawed, but most people don't care, so scientists fudge the facts. And that evolution is somehow random.) (The second one was a joke, there is no way anyone could possibly believe that evolution is random, if they know anything about the theory. Yes it is a theory, and a theory is something that best explains all the evidence gathered so far.)
Here's my source: Well evolution is a theory. It is also a fact. And facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world's data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them.

As much info as possible.

It doesn't matter if someone who answers before you has chosen the same denomination, though of course I would like to learn about as many as possible :)

Some of the questions i'd like answered for each denomination are:
- What version of the Bible is used? What is specific about this? (e.g. Jehova's Witnesses, Mormons and Catholics all use different 'versions' of the Bible)
- How are the places of worship decorated? Are they lavish or plain?
- How are services held? Gospel music or hymns? No music at all? Informal or formal?

Obviously, I would like to know more than that, but those are just some of the things i'm very interested in :)

ON EAGLE'S WINGS
by Michael Joncas

1. You who dwell in the shelter of the Lord, who abide in his shadow for life, say to the Lord: "My refuge, my rock in whom I trust!"

REFRAIN: And he will raise you up on eagle's wings, bear you on the breath of dawn, make you to shine like the sun, and hold you in the palm of his hand.

2. The snare of the fowler will never capture you, and famine will bring you no fear: under his wings your refuge, his faithfulness your shield. (REFRAIN)

3. For to his angels he's given a command to guard you in all of your ways; upon their hands they will bear you up, lest you dash your foot against a stone. (REFRAIN)
site to hear it: http://www.assumption.edu/chapelchoir/audio/rejoice/on_eagles_wings.html
I found myself singing this yesterday and I wondered if you have heard it and enjoyed it, I talks about how God has the angels to protect us, just wondered if you liked it. Have a great one.

Message: "ps, firebreather seems to have a very negative opinion..

And the lies of pagans like you show factually, that you have a "negative attitude". Furthermore slandering opinion basher, since when is having a negative attitude a bad thing in and of itself because you said so? Get a clue.

"There is a way that seems right to a man, but the end therefore leads to death."

"Don't judge a book by it's cover."

We all will be back to our creator God and the reality of what we have been arguing in R&S will be known to us. The next generation will be still arguing here about the truth that God has kept unseen for them and of truth we all will have seen by then. What are your thoughts on these facts of death and life?

Without telling me not to worry or treating me like a mental patient, just on an intellectual level. Would anyone agree that there is nothing important. Whatever we acheive we will all end up in the same place and it's meaningless. You might say, "but think about the people you leave behind." All of humanity will come to an end one day. And everything will get swallowed up in a black hole again. Who knows how many infinities of creatures evolved, thought, and lived before we did. We're not special, we're made of the same material as all of the inanimate objects. So would you agree at all?

i think it's foolish to believe the religion you choose is the "one true religion". humans err, don't you think God would want us to erase the lines that divide us. having factions of religion only separates us even more. i just saying, admit you could be wrong, i don't think God would hold it against you. i'm agnostic if you're wondering. besides you should be worshipping him, not your religion.
