I know it is a dumb question. However, are there non-christians who understand and are fluent in christianese, or can I safely say Christians have truly invented a new language of their own?

I would like you to post a link for a website that you think accurately reflects your faith's teachings and/or faith community. Please be specific. So for, example, if you are a Christian, please link a website for your specific denomination or actual church even. I am asking this in this spirit of mutual growth and understanding, therefore, please do not post links for propaganda sites speaking against others. This is your chance to showcase what you love, not put down what you don't. Cheaters will be reported and deleted, not to mention that you'll only be making yourself look very petty and mean-spirited. All are welcome, and I particularly encourage those of smaller faiths that many Americans no little about such as Shinto, Jain, Hopi, Bahai, etc. to participate. Also, if you would give us a little intro to the site and what we can expect to find. Lastly, if you'd like to give your own personal reasons for being a member of this faith, you are welcome, but please be succinct.

I do all the time for I find the Atheists most of the time in their view seem to be good observers of the acts, actions, and the very inconsistent understanding of what many who call themselves Christians say the Bible says. Too many time in simple and clear logical terms they do call attention to many points that most do not see or desire to overlook for the sake of their so called blind faith.

In my view they are a blessing and do aid me in the learning and correcting process that is necessary for me as I do seek to understand the constantly consistent truth.

To all Atheists: Please stay right here on Yahoo Q&A and keep up the works you are good at so I can keep thanking my God and learning. You are one of the solid affirmations to me that My God does exist and does provide for all the needs of his children.

You may want to reference a similar question that I posed to believers earlier.

Then again, I don't think they will give you much help. (It's really sad.)

"I am an atheist" makes people in this country cringe, they equivicate it to pedophiles and rapists.

Can the name 'atheist' be worn with pride?

Some of the stuff I just can't believe is real. Is it okay as a Christian to believe in God and Jesus, but also believe that over time, man (being imperfect), hasn't recorded events 100% the way they actually happened?

This is freaking me out. My husband is driving to work, and called to tell me that he smells death on his clothes, in the air, all around him. He's gone several miles with the windows open and it's still lingering. There's also a storm brewing after a very dry summer, but the lady I babysit for just picked up her baby and said she doesn't smell anything odd. Any ideas what this would mean?

PS He's an EMT and knows what death smells like. He says it's almost like roadkill, but definately different. Personally, I've never smelled it.

Don't write in Hebrew script. Literally translate it. Write it as it is, just in Western script. For example...

Take this and write it the way it would appear if these EXACT words were in English...

Oh God...
You get it. Write it in Hebrew, but not in Hebrew scripting.

That if you regect him, why you would not go to Heaven, if my child rejected me he wouldnt come home either, but because he chose not to come home. Not because i told him he couldnt. But i have faith, I have been saved, I want to go home, but what if I sin to much and he says I cant? That I was not good enough nomatter how I tried. faith without good works is nothing, good works without faith is nothing, so how much is enough?

Or is this another one of those not to be taken literally metaphors I keep hearing about?

Leviticus 24:11-14
"The son of the Israelite woman blasphemed the Name with a curse; so they brought him to Moses. They put him in custody until the will of the LORD should be made clear to them. Then the LORD said to Moses: "Take the blasphemer outside the camp. All those who heard him are to lay their hands on his head, and the entire assembly is to stone him."

This seems in contrast to Jesus telling the mob that wanted to stone a prostitute that "if any one of you is without sin, let him be the first to throw a stone at her". (John 8:7). Has God matured from the OT to the New? Or is Jesus just more godly than his dad?

I am dating this guy who doesn't really practice being catholic but I know that his family does very much. My question is this, what are some catholic beliefs that kind of sets them apart from other religions? I heard that they do not believe in taking birth control, can someone tell me more about this belief and if it is true? Thank you very much!

Many theologians no longer believe in the Devil as as a real person, or entity. Even the conservative preacher Billy Graham softened his Hellfire and Brimstone conceptualizations over time.
