This is freaking me out. My husband is driving to work, and called to tell me that he smells death on his clothes, in the air, all around him. He's gone several miles with the windows open and it's still lingering. There's also a storm brewing after a very dry summer, but the lady I babysit for just picked up her baby and said she doesn't smell anything odd. Any ideas what this would mean?

PS He's an EMT and knows what death smells like. He says it's almost like roadkill, but definately different. Personally, I've never smelled it.

He's at work, almost thirty miles away, and it's still with him. Please say a prayer...

In my experience the one who smells death smells it from someone else. Not from themself. I haven't experienced that myself, but one who could told me.

If you trust in God, then trust Him like never before. You'll see that it may turn out to be nothing.

Prayer done.

From my experiences, those smells "stick" with you, whether it's literally or psychologically.

I've known several fire-medics who smelled the odor of burning human flesh and said they couldn't get rid of it for weeks.

He might be experiencing a lot of stress from his job; did he run some tough calls recently? Might be a good time to take a mini-vacation or something.

Some smells really do stick around awhile. Maybe it's time to clean out the car? :)

Hope everything works out?

P.S. Death isn't a smell you forget...

You can smell cinamon, or other scents, if you concentrate on them enough. That is the cool part about your brain.

People who are EMT's often have issues with seeing and smelling death alot. It's a psychological thing.

He's in TJ?
Sorry, maybe he has a nasal infection.
I have had very serious nasal problems over the years, and I too used to "smell death", What I think it was, is that with so many infections, a lot of tissue literally was dying. It has finally subsided, yet it used to be real disgusting.

Are you taking mega doses of supplements or iron supplements? If not, then no, it is going to not be yellow or a solid scent. Drink further water till the urine is sparkling-colored, then attempt to maintain ingesting 4-6 ozan hour throughout the time of your waking hours. Your kidneys are attempting to deliver you a message.

Maybe a mouse or something died in the walls of your closet, and it's only just starting to smell, and the smell got on his clothes or something.
Or he could be imagining it.

Could be he got something on his clothes. It could be skunk spray or some pungent oil form road kill. Or, he could have an anaerobic infection. That smell just like death (but it is not) let me tell you.
