So I asked a question on Evolution.

I was told by atleast 7 different people that we came from a virus!

If we came from a virus...Why is it that we catch a virus and get sick from it, since our genetic makeup is from a virus?

Want to join me in a cup of coffee?

A cyborg is a human being who have most of his or her body replaced by robotic like parts.
The limit between cyborg and robot for some science fiction authors is a robotic armor who encased a brain and a human spinal cord.

My friend Muhammed told me, "look at what the Christians and Jews do"
http://youtube.com/watch?v=ZqbDiN2uYcQ

he said that the Jews stole the land from the Palestines because they claim God gave it to them when Palestinians have been there for years. Fill me in.

i am finding myself less and less inclined to worship god or even give him the time of day. it hurts to say this but it is what i am feeling. it seems i can never measure up to what i am being called to do. church constantly challenges me, and i constantly fail. i am not seeking god like i wish to either. i still strive to follow god's commandments, for i have strong morals, but my relationship with christ is hurting. i know paul wrote everyone falls short of the glory of god, but it's not comforting now. please help.

Is a cult any religion that's different from yours? What makes a cult different from a "real" religion? Why? Is it possible for a cult to become a conventional religion? If so, how? Does anyone ever say they belong to a cult or is it just a phrase used to criticise groups that someone doesn't like?

We are intelligent and creative. We have major flaws, it's true, but we do have virtues.

this is for abulaifz who mentioned in my previos post that bible does not prove that dinosaurs existed...
the Bible describes a couple of creatures in such a way that some scholars believe the writers may have been describing dinosaurs. Behemoth is said to be the mightiest of all God’s creatures, a giant whose tail is likened to a cedar tree (Job 40:15ff). Some scholars have tried to identify Behemoth as either an elephant or a hippopotamus. Others point out that elephants and hippopotamuses have very thin tails, nothing comparable to a cedar tree. Dinosaurs like the Brachiosaurus and the Diplodocus on the other had huge tails which one could easily compare to a cedar tree.

everything about life is explained well in the bible and i might not be able to answer all your question because i havent read the bible completely.but dont ask questions without being sure of it. similarly to all atheist read the bible like a bedtime story book like many claim it to be so u aint so naive,g'nite

Evolution theory tells us how to breed better farm animals and plants, prevent drug resistant bacteria, treat genetic diseases.

What benefits does creationism bring?
Besides increasing church attentance?

How can christians give so much advice on reading the Bible when they can't even agree on which version is the correct one? NLT, NIV, KJV, NKJV. If their religion is the one true religion, why can't they use just one book?

Earlier a poster tried to explain Evolution.
Here is his first ranting:

OK. I'll put it as simply as I can. A long time ago there where these creatures. Through the eons and generations, certain traits became more desirable for survival. Each generation of offspring had new developments (adaptations to their environment). As the family tree from these original creatures grew longer and more separated, new branches evolved. Jeez I can't even explain it simple enough for you. Basically, humans and monkeys/apes are cousins in a family tree that goes back to the original creatures. Monkeys/apes did not become humans.....the original creature did.

***
When I asked him what the 'original creature' was, he replied saying he didn't have the time to research it.

So....does anyone know this 'original creature'?

In Edain McCoy's book, Sabbats, she states it "As ye harm none, do what thou will" in the glossary under "Pagan Rede". She says it does not allow pagans to hurt any living being or to try to control another's free will. By asking this question, I am hoping to promote a better understanding of the Wiccan spiritual path. I enjoy learning about different faiths and respect everyone's beliefs.

when a situation keeps occuring over and over again with different people? This keeps happening to me and it really pisses me off. I make an appointment to see the Dr. or Dentist and 20-30 minutes go past my appointment time and I still have not been called in for my appointment. I think I am supposed to learn something from this but I have not figured it out yet. Do any of you have similar experiences or any insights?

That every religion is just a different story about the real god. for example Budhism Budha is god and he is chosing the path to peace ect... every religion was about 1 god but told in a different perspective involved in a different story.
