So I asked a question on Evolution.

I was told by atleast 7 different people that we came from a virus!

If we came from a virus...Why is it that we catch a virus and get sick from it, since our genetic makeup is from a virus?

Want to join me in a cup of coffee?

*** Jim L...don't feel sorry for me. Christians/Creationist get made fun of all the time for our beliefs and we've learned to let it roll off our backs. Toughen up and have a cup!

What's in your coffee, and that's a mighty big cup if we're both getting in it.

Humans are a virus to this earth, but I believe in the creation theory. Call me old fashioned. Go ahead, say it, I'm old fashioned

Can you put up a link to the question about evolution you previously asked, please? Ok, here's one of the problems:
Quella Bella
"What's the 'original creature'?
OK...WE (creationist) get the idea from YOU (evolutionist)!
One week we are a:
monkey
fish
bird
now 'an original creature'"
Evolution is not linear. Monkeys never evolved into fish and then birds. Humans didn't even evolve from monkeys. Humans and monkeys both descended from (drumroll) primates, thus not linear.
Two people (not at least 7 as you stated) on the post mentioned viruses. Neither one said that a virus was the first "being" in evolution or that humans evolved from viruses. And as several people have stated you don't get sick from every virus. One person told you, quite clearly I thought, that "abiogenes is is the theory that the first 'living' thing was developed naturally over millions of years from amino acids (the thing DNA is made out of) that was created when lightning hit the primitive atmosphere." If you really want to learn about the theory of evolution, you can check out the links below or read a book on evolution from the science section of your library.

Here is what the current model for the answer more or less looks like:

Plausible pre-biotic conditions result in the creation of certain basic small molecules (monomers) of life, such as amino acids. This was demonstrated in the Miller-Urey experiment by Stanley L. Miller and Harold C. Urey in 1953.
Phospholipids (of an appropriate length) can spontaneously form lipid bilayers, a basic component of the cell membrane.
The polymerization of nucleotides into random RNA molecules might have resulted in self-replicating ribozymes (RNA world hypothesis).
Selection pressures for catalytic efficiency and diversity result in ribozymes which catalyse peptidyl transfer (hence formation of small proteins), since oligopeptides complex with RNA to form better catalysts. Thus the first ribosome is born, and protein synthesis becomes more prevalent.
Proteins outcompete ribozymes in catalytic ability, and therefore become the dominant biopolymer. Nucleic acids are restricted to predominantly genomic use.

We didn't come from a virus, that's for sure. Virus do not posses the basic cellular structure all other life forms have. They need to parasite cellular forms in order to procreate, so they appeared after cells (bacteria) appeared. There is no evidence for any relation between men and virus

Personally I know I did not come from a virus.

Now a cup of coffee may be fun.

If this is true, and we all came from singel celled creatures, how come we still have a lot of virus's, but no new life form. Yes, they are discovering "new" species of animals and plants every year, but most of those were thought to be extinct. Now my ex husband was certainly a virus, but that is another story....

Wrong. Try again.

We do not have the same genetic make up as a virus because evolution = genetic change.

There are thousands of different viruses, and if we do come from one, it doesnt matter because we only come from ONE.

We did not come from viruses, oh my gosh. They can't even reproduce without a host cell. It is simply speculation without one speck of good evidence.

Viruses are neither alive nor dead by scientific definition. By scientific definition, we are alive. We are not a virus
