There's a reason for the begats. Very few people understand why, but the purpose of the begats is to trace The Virgin Mary's lineage back to Noah, who was perfect in his generations and the reason he was selected by God. Why? Because Jesus sacrifice upon the cross for the sins of the world could not have been accomplished if his lineage could not have been traced. It is wrong to believe that Jesus was sinless in his actions.

The devil - the author of the Holy Bible is God and he does not put anyone to sleep reading his words!@~

They may be boring but they are full of information. It's the pointer to Jesus. Heaps more evidence that Jesus is the Christ. The entire Bible points to Jesus. Don't you see why God made sure this history was preserved? It blows away all the naysayer arguments. I really don't care if you sleep through it or who made you sleep through it.

Probably neither! Straight boredom. Try getting beyond the "begats" unless you really want to know who fathered who (or is it whom?)

While the genealogies are valuable, they do make monotonous reading. I don't think it was the author's intent to make them dry and boring; he was just trying to be thorough and informative. But yeah, it's pretty bland reading on its own.

It is the devil who is enticing you to sleep when you read the bible. He do not want you to read it. Do not allow yourself to be enticed or tempted by the devil. Continue reading the bible. someday you will come to understand everything in it and you will understand everything in your life.
