"Religion and Spirituality" implies sacredness, while "Mythology and Folklore" does not. It's a subjective difference, but it wouldn't really be right to place our life's purpose in the same category as Paul Bunyan.

There are several views on this question.
People who don't believe in spirituality or religion will say that its the same thing.
People who believe will have a different view.
Perhaps it would be better to split the section into 3 section (Spirituality, Religion and another section where people can go to rant hate mail at each other).
Mythology deals more with legends and old stories like the loch ness monster, dragons and other subjects. Magic is something that may appear in this section but that would be debateable.
I, personally, would like to see more of the philosophy section mirrored in this section rather than the thinly held beliefs that most people seem to present in this section. But on that point it is difficult to have a conversation on a subject in the current format.

Personally, although it will probably contradict the views of others here are that we should not merge the two sections as there are clear distinctions and far less emotions found in the myth & folklore section than in the spirituality and religion section.

Existing three major religions; Islam, Christianity & Judaism are based on spiritual teachings hence can be categorized as Spiritual Religions.

Spiritual religions bear witness of prophets duly supported with miracles and historical events which cannot be denied by non-believers.

Religions based on Mythology bear no such evidences. Myths and their stories are often forgotten - gone with the wind - as soon as the society & cultures are vanished.

Consequently there are only two categories:
1- Spriritual religions (Based on Holy Scriptures)
2- Mythological religions (Based on oral stories).

Spirituality cannot be merged with Myths!

Actually Religion should be with Folklore, and Mythology with Spirituality. They would be more related that way.

great thought! i ought to placed up that the point in putting aside them is to charm to love minds. some each physique isn't as sharp as you and "as committed christians" ought to never click on Mythology & Folklore. Conversely, people who're burnt out on Christianity ought to waste their time clicking on faith & Spirituality. easily the two are one yet you will desire to enable for people who have not understood this yet on some element.

No. But evolution should. It's the most ridiculous thing ever heard (with the exception of greek mythology), and yet sheep such as yourself believe it! And then you mock the only true explanation!

I agree. Mythology is merely religious folktales, so they should be the same category.

looking for someone to reaffirm your belief system?

to answer your question, no. there is a fundamental difference between R&S and M&F.... people believe in religion. and it would be insulting to do such a thing. but i'm sure... well, halfway sure you already knew that.
