firebreather777, aka chosenbygod777, has sent me a string of abusive emails due to my opinions when i answered a question re:pagan/wiccan websites.
it is jealous because i was picked best answer??
whatever his reason, i do not deserve the following surely? read on..
"From: firebreather 777
Subject: hi liar
Message: "ps, firebreather seems to have a very negative opinion..

And the lies of pagans like you show factually, that you have a "negative attitude". Furthermore slandering opinion basher, since when is having a negative attitude a bad thing in and of itself because you said so? Get a clue.

"There is a way that seems right to a man, but the end therefore leads to death."

"Don't judge a book by it's cover."

A vain and jealous person slanders those he does not know...."

" "I tell you that anyone who is angry with his brother will be subject to judgment. Again, anyone who says to his brother, 'Raca, ' is answerable to the Sanhedrin. But anyone who says, 'You fool!' will be in danger of the fire of hell." - Matthew 5:22

"A fool finds no pleasure in understanding but delights in airing his own opinions." - Proverbs 18:2

"but then ignorance breeds contempt?"

Oh, is that why pagans are so contemptuous and have been disobeying God from ancient times, murdering babies, being sexist towards females, sacrificing babies, kids, and adults and brutally murdering their enemies, is that why they show contempt for the poor and were known for it since ancient times? Oh. "

i have had some heated debates, but never resotred to that level of intimidation.
i just feel sorry for those types, obviously nothing better to do eh?!

Hedgewitch ...I am a Christian, (don't hang up!) and probably don't agree with your beliefs, but that does not give me the right to abuse you! I truly don't know wherein the answer to this dilemma lies.
of course, I could start quoting scripture at you, and many of my belief might do the same, accusing me of fence-walking.
I don't see it that way. I will not be moved to adopt your set of beliefs, but neither, i believe will you be of mine.
Most of my belief would probably say, 'go forth and preach';
However, I don't find it helpful to go forth and abuse.
It's possible that We Christians should have a category, and stick to it, and wiccans, or whoever else believes in whatever else should have a category, and 'never the 'twain shall meet.'
Except in the categories we have other interests in, where hopefully we can talk to one another as human beings.
I am supposed to be trying to 'save your immortal soul', and I may catch it for this, but if you are going to ever come over to my side in the way of beliefs, it won't be by my pelting you with abusive e-mails, of that I am sure.
it seems odd and very disheartening to me that the category, 'religion and spirituality' seems the one filled up to the brim with hate messages.
Peace.

No, I would not react the way 777 did, but then I would also not react the way you have to his reaction. The very best thing you can do is block him and forget about him. If he puts something in a question or an answer that you can flag for violation, by all means do so. But don't let it raise your blood pressure like this. It just gives him the satisfaction of knowing he got to you.

Regardless of their opinions, I never email anyone that I personally do not know.

May I give you a suggestion, for the next time firebreather or 'whatever' sends an email?--- Report that address and any subsequent ones- - as 'spam'.

No matter who you are, as a human I agree with : "I tell you that anyone who is angry with his brother will be subject to judgment. Again, anyone who says to his brother, 'Raca, ' is answerable to the Sanhedrin. But anyone who says, 'You fool!' will be in danger of the fire of hell." - Matthew 5:22 and I removed my email and I am a Christian because it was just an open door for abuse.

Not only was he a bit psychotic, but also incoherent. The ramblings of madmen, you've just got to learn to report then ignore them.

It's bizarre how people act, I had one person thank me on the boards for pointing something out, then email me being very rude. I found he stopped once I set him straight.

You reacted as anyone would, you've just got to be firm and take a stand, good for you.

HA....i guess you shouldn't allow emails anymore. i'm sorry you have to deal with sh*t like that just for even answering a question about wicca.

i work at a hotel and once a year we have this group that stays with us b.c they can stay with no one else really here in town because they pretty much get pushed out. i looks like a large group of hippies and wizards but it's actually a naturalist/pagan/wiccan convention of about 200 people. i feel sooooo bad for them because they'll be walking around in the hotel and some lady will start screaming bloody murder just at looking at them. AND THEN...this old lady WITH the convention got brained in the head with a Gideon Bible that's in our hotel rooms.

ignorance isn't even an issue....this person is forcing you and your beliefs upon them!!!! or some kind of retro-active proactive action?!?!? ugh!

I would not lose any sleep over it..that's just his/her opinion which does not count for much. If you have to insult people, then it shows a lack of understanding and education. You may disagree with anothers opinions but that does not give a person the right to be offensive or rude...simply give it the justification it needs..and that's to totally ignore it..

Oh, ignore it. I have received hate mail from darkspeed...2 times...for being kind to atheists. He used horrible language and practically threatened me.

This a.m. I got a sanctimonious email from Orion about "love."
What a hoot, considering his many questions are anything but loving. He's never said a kind word about Christians since I've been here....2 months.

This is happening to everyone which is why a lot of people don't allow emails to be sent to them. Send it to yahoo abuse. I had someone named Today's Prophet sending me emails like that. I have no idea why someone would react that way to an opinion which was put in very nice terms. Put them on block.

A line has been crossed. Everyone is entitled to an opinion. Saying that is should be kept on the boards and not taken to email. You should tell them to stop. If the harassing emails continued that is a crime.
