I think the West is utterly ignorant of Aramaic idiom and have made a complete religion out of misunderstanding Jewish tradition.
"Son of God" has been used millions of times for thousands of people in the Middle-East. It does not, nor has it ever meant "the literal son of God". If that had been what Jesus meant, then the Priests WOULD have had a law to kill him.
It meant a priest-king of the Jewish people.
The Messiah, which ALSO was not a divine term, referred to the "Son of God" which would save them from their oppressors, at that time, Rome. It was a term applied to multiple people over the history of the Jewish people who had strict rules about non-deification of people. What Jew in his right mind would claim to be divine and get stoned for it? They would have had every excuse to kill him. Instead they say, "We have no law to put this man to death".
They had lots of laws to kill men who claimed divinity.
Jesus never claimed that. Paul did it for him. Paul has three versions, all written by Paul, all different and contradictory of his vision of Jesus.
Even Jesus' followers and disciples tried to stone Paul, according to Paul!
The Jews had nothing to do with this "Jesus plan". They've been distancing themselves from it for centuries, shaking their heads, but too polite to say, "Those Christians are silly".
I'm not religious, but this question goes too far.

To be honest, Jesus never called himself to be the son of God. Infact, he preached to people to worship the ONE and ONLY GOD. People later, misunderstood him to be the son of God, only because he didn't have a father.
Frankly speaking, it doesn't sound logical for God to have a son. If we assume it, then there arises a question, Why only ONE son and why not a daughter or a wife? Another question, before the Son, who should the people wroship? And what happened to the God Father, after the Son.
God has created us, and He is above all Creations. I
There are still some verses in Bible regarding this.

Jesus is the Son of God and the Jews didn't want to acknowledge it at the time. However, we learn that one day the Jews will finally see that He is the Son of God and will worship Him.

Did you fall asleep during history class??????
He never called himself that; his followers did long after he died.
Jews did not believe J.C was G-d, the son of G-d, or the messiah.
How have Jews 'taken advantage' of the world?????????
Is it all the Nobel prizes they have won while advancing science and medicine? Was it the fact that the most gifted violinists and pianists in the history of classical music were/are Jewish???
Hmmmmmm........ Are you a bit jealous????? Are you a Muslim, or just a plain old antisemite???????

Jesus was a true prophet of God. He used the words of son and father just to show the obedience and Providence. Later Jews planned to diversify the the Christian from the their right path introduced this concept as they have introduced in muslim a concept of Ali's god-hood or superiority from all humanity. But they were caught in their own plan and for centuries they were punished by christians for not believing their God and maltreating him.

Jesus actually called himself "Son of man." He was from the line of David. God is the one that said that he sent his son for the sins of man.

He was called 'Son of God" because he was in the beginning with God when all things were created. When the world was made, he was the one that did the work.... no small wonder he came unto us as a carpenter......
He was also called the "Son of Man"..... as he was in the flesh as a man whose father was called Joseph.

Either Jesus was a raving lunatic, or actually who he said he was.
it is your life goal to decide which one he was.
there is no middle ground in your decision.
either your for or against him, which one are you?
there is sufficient evidence for one of these two outcomes, if you are willing to investigate further, you will come to a decision.
mine? Jesus is who he says he is... God
