I don't try to get peope deleted for being prozionist. You can be pro or anti. It's a free country. Why do so many Jews think they have a right to persecute anyone who disagrees with them? We're not talking ethnic slurs here, just criticism. I can criticise the situation in Palestine,or jewish organisations. Where did they get this idea they are supposed to be above criticism? What was done to our dear penguin is pretty much the last straw in my book. Opinions?

Some answerers do not know what is being discusssed. This is a follow-up to my question last night, which you can bring up ("Does Anybody Have Any Idea How I WALK FUNNY got deleted?" Read the responses before you answer. Please. This is about one of our best members being targeted for deletion because she is an antizionist.

To "Roy Patterson" - more than meets the eye/ Are you kidding? I've never made any secret whatsover of my sentiments regarding the so-called Torah or hebrew bible or Old trestament. Am I supposed to be on some secret agenda here? My views on that subject and zionism are well-known. I express them openly. So what's your point, that I'm honest in my view of Judaism as the equivilant of mythology and that it shouldn't play a role in our foreign policy, this idea that God promised them Palestine? You need to grow up.

There's a difference between a guy who doesn't agree with Jews and a Nazi.

People need to learn that.

Hello Grendel,

As we know it today Zionism was started by Herzl in the 1890's after covering the Dreyfuse affair (a French Jewish army officer unjustly convicted of treason and later exhonerated) and seeing all the other pogroms and anti- Jewish sentiment in Europe. He thought enough is enough and our people should be able to return home.

Check this out from Wikipedia:

"Initially, support for political Zionism was not a mainstream position in the Jewish communities scattered around the world. The secular, socialist language used by many pioneer Zionists was contrary to the outlook of most religious Jewish communities, and many religious organizations opposed it, both on the grounds that it was a secular movement, and on the grounds that any attempt to re-establish Jewish rule in Israel by human agency was blasphemous, since (in their view) only the Messiah could accomplish this.[25]

While traditional Jewish belief held that the Land of Israel was given to the ancient Israelites by God, and that therefore the right of the Jews to that land was permanent and inalienable, most Orthodox groups held that the Messiah must appear before Israel could return to Jewish control. Prior to the Holocaust, Reform Judaism rejected Zionism.[26]

When the Balfour Declaration was issued in 1917, Edwin Montagu, the only Jew in the British Cabinet, "was passionately opposed to the declaration on the grounds that (a) it was a capitulation to anti-Semitic bigotry, with its suggestion that Palestine was the natural destination of the Jews, and that (b) it would be a grave cause of alarm to the Muslim world."[27]

So you see this whole movement has been a contentious one and heavily debated over the last 120 years, particularily amongst Jewish people themselves. So long as someone is not saying death to that country or her people or using all the bad familiar woeds to describe them then it is only fair that the debate should be allowed to continue.

Personally, for the record, I do support the right of Israel to exist in peace and carry on as a nation. However there are many who have their differences with me and I believe it is their right to express their differences without being cut off.

Regards,

Michael Kelly

in my opinion "What was done to our dear penguin is pretty much the last straw in my book. "

is like a 3 year old saying they'll hold their breath until they get their way.

its utterly meaningless and silly.

what makes you think jewish people act or feel that way? most likely stuff like that would have been reported by christians "acting on behalf of" jewish people.

I don't really know what your talking about even, but theres a huge range of things that could be covered by what you've said. some are legitimate and decent enough and reasonable to say, and others are just thinly veiled hatred and "racism" I don't know which is what your talking about, but not appriciating the difference doesn't help your case.

and as a last point.. ... last straw for what? your visiting YA? ... right.

from you:

"Judaism is just a hodgepodge of ancient contemporary religions, beg borrowed and stolen, nothing original. I wish it could be removed from the Christian canon since it contradicts all of Christ's teachings."

So I WALK FUNNY may have been talking about Zionism, but you are actually very critical of Judaism. Absurdly so I may say, every religion is part original and part syncretism. Why single out Judaism like that? Oh right, because it's actually incorporated into your religion. So who's the syncretist now? Seriously, there may be a case to all of this, but you should be a bit more honest about your actual intentions. Because right now it seems like there is more than meets the eye.

Grendel, I don't know if it was against the Jewish people as a race that you were showing your criticism for. If that were so it would be violating Yahoo's community guidelines. If it was that you were only disagreeing with Jewish religious beliefs or their government then you have that right.
Yahoo have deleted questions that are within the guidelines just because someone just didn't like it. I know!!
