I need your prayers.I am a very out going person but I just want to keep to myself and stay away from people for a few days.

Many people in response to my last question disregarded my request and basically stated "I cannot separate my sense of morality from my deity".

Atheists are asked all the time where they get morality from. Put yourself in their shoes for a moment. Yes, I'm asking you to assume for the moment that there are no gods. Not Yahweh, not Quetzalcoatl, not Ra, not Mithra, not any. If you CAN'T do this, please DO NOT ANSWER.

Alright, you've put yourself in the shoes of an atheist (metaphorically speaking, of course). No gods exist. Now... from where or what do you derive your morality?

P.S. If you've already answered, you don't need to answer again unless you really need the points.

vibes, but don't some people make use of this positive flow, by rowing with the current, while others, may spend a long time rowing against the current, I don't think you have to be religious to see this.

An atheist Buddhist? I think I can do that. I'm just not so sure about the beer and the shotguns.

If Jesus died on Friday and he was seen walking and talking on Sunday, did he sacrifice anything else but a day and a half?

Was the crucifiction story the only sacrifice besides the temporary death?

I'm a pre-teen girl and I want to get baptised. But the thing is, I don't feel comfortable talking to my preacher or youth pastor. I think it's because they're guys and I often don't feel comfortable around guys for no reason what so ever. I felt comfortable around our old youth pastor, but he moved away. I feel comfortable talking to the pastor's wife and many of the other women in our church. I really want to get baptised, but like I said, I wouldn't feel comfortable getting baptised by the two pastors. What do I do?

Most religions arent like christians they are preaching if people don't accept Jesus then they go to hell other religions don't act like that i have watched many things about the Christian religion it seems like they are trying to build an army of God they seem to act like everybody is wrong and they have to show them what is right even though there religion is completely ridiculous.

What's the point of people like me being born? We contribute nothing to society,we will never mate or pass on the genes, and we aren't what the human race was supposed to be. The male human was meant to be strong, handsome and emotionless. A protector and defender. So why does any deity create imperfect creatures such as me or for Atheists why do imperfections like have to show up in every species?

Right wing theocon republicans.
Well even though there is no Biblical reference of such an event. The myth of it involves the rightous being wisked away before the Tribulation. This brings to mind that these people actually beleive that God can not see into the dark place that is their true heart. That God does not know their sin!!!! They think that they can lie loud enough and long enough for their brothers and sisters to believe their salvation, and God would not know the difference. I would suggest a plan B.

I have noticed that some of the believers of several religions (not just Christianity, but others as well) state that their religions aren't like all the others, because they are not really religions, but "ways of life" and so on. However, is it not the case that - whether you agree with or believe in a certain religion or not - every religion can qualify as a way of life? If a person truly follows the tenants of their religion, then that implies that the way they live their life will change based on the beliefs they have adopted.

I think that for a religion to be a "way of life" is more dependent on whether or not a person is simply paying lip service to a religion, or is actually trying to follow it. What do you all say?

profess to be Christians jump in there with ridicule? This is something expected from Atheists and can be easily overlooked as they do not have the Holy Spirit guiding them but, the other supposed "Christians", why do you do it when you know it is not kind?

Personally, I think Harry Potter is dumb, but if someone enjoys it, who am I to judge? Why is it that many Christians take issue with these books/movies? It's just stupid fun, without any basis in reality.

I do not want to come across as though I am criticizing anyones beliefs, mocking you or being detrimental. I have not made up my mind as to whether I believe in any religion - I always respect other peoples beliefs. It is what makes you who you are. However, I would very much like to know whether, if you believe in God, how old do you believe the Earth is? I am of the understanding that there is evidence which suggests Ancient Eqyptians and Incas etc were present on Earth before the time God created the Earth (correct me if I am wrong). It is very hard deciding whether I believe in religion as so many things are presented to me as fact, though I understand fact as something which could be proven? As you can see I'm confused, please help. Thanks!!

with such fevor is because they want the freedom from a system of morality that comes with a belief in God. Simply, it interferes with their sexual freedom.
If there isnt a just God to judge the actions of men, isn't it easier for man to do as he pleases?
We should remember the old saying ; If you teach a child he is only an animal, don't complain when he behaves like one.
Can we not lay part of the blame fro rampant immorality and crime on society's prevalent values and beliefs-which stem from, to a great extent, evolution theory?
And can this perspective have something to do with the immorality rampant in so many schools and universities where God is banned from the classroom and evolution theory is taught as fact?

The sun "dies" for three days on December 22nd, the winter solstice, when it stops in its movement south, to be born again or resurrected on December 25th, when it resumes its movement north.
In some areas, the calendar originally began in the constellation of Virgo, and the sun would therefore be "born of a Virgin."
The sun is the "Light of the World."
The sun "cometh on clouds, and every eye shall see him."
The sun rising in the morning is the "Savior of mankind."
The sun wears a corona, "crown of thorns" or halo.71
The sun "walks on water."
The sun's "followers," "helpers" or "disciples" are the 12 months and the 12 signs of the zodiac or constellations, through which the sun must pass.
The sun at 12 noon is in the house or temple of the "Most High"; thus, "he" begins "his Father's work" at "age" 12.
The sun enters into each sign of the zodiac at 30°; hence, the "Sun of God" begins his ministry at "age" 30.
