I'm converting to Orthodoxy from Protestantism, and I'm wondering who my Patron Saint would be? I go by my middle name which is Justin, so would it be St. Justin Martyr? I need some help on how to determine who should be my Patron Saint. Thanx! :)

Justin Martyr(c AD 100-c165) a philosopher who converted to Christianity at age 30 and became an apologist or explainer and defender of Christianity and was martyred in Rome.

You can take other patron saints as well such as some saint whose life parallels your own in some way. You may want to look up saints of your occupation or ethnicity
also. There are also saints whose commemoration days are on your birthday and Chrismation day.
God bless you as you come into a fuller and more ancient branch of Christianity.

Ask your pastor to either lend you or to help you find a book on saints, use it to either find one that has your name or one who life most relates to yours. If you have been confirmed you could use the saint that you chose for your patron saint as the one you use. I have several religious names from my first to my middle and my confirmations name. That gives me about 4 choices to choose a patron saint, you might find that you also have several choices. Good luck

Sounds like a pretty good choice to me. Perhaps you could read up on the various Saints with that name and choose the one with whom you identify the most.

Cheers :-)

Blimey. Didn't know there were any saints at all with that name.
I can't answer your question (not religious), but thanks for asking it anyway. I've always considered my name under-represented among the great and good, and will be looking St Justin up.
