with such fevor is because they want the freedom from a system of morality that comes with a belief in God. Simply, it interferes with their sexual freedom.
If there isnt a just God to judge the actions of men, isn't it easier for man to do as he pleases?
We should remember the old saying ; If you teach a child he is only an animal, don't complain when he behaves like one.
Can we not lay part of the blame fro rampant immorality and crime on society's prevalent values and beliefs-which stem from, to a great extent, evolution theory?
And can this perspective have something to do with the immorality rampant in so many schools and universities where God is banned from the classroom and evolution theory is taught as fact?

When God created humans He gave then the earth as their scientific laboratory and told them to subdue it. They were to be curious and explore their surroundings because the things they would find would teach them more about the creator that had made them. The bible teaches that our universe is orderly & rational & was purposefully designed. If there was no order there would be no point in studying it because there would be nothing to learn. This is the philosophical foundation for all modern scientific research. Its a real tragedy that somewhere along the way we have derailed from Gods original purpose for scientific study. Scientists & educators were sidetracked from discovering the truth about the origin & meaning of life when they adopted Darwins readoning. Their widespread acceptance of an alternate explanation of man & creation existence apart from the account of Genesis soon led to a distrust of the bible & God. This massive shift of thought has had far reaching consequences.

In spite of what some people are saying, God is not opposed to honest scientific inquiry. God planned for us to reach a lot further into space than just the moon. The real sea of tranquility is not on the moon; its a relationship with God. " And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart." (Jeremiah 29:13). And at the end of our scientific exploration, we are supposed to find God. If we see God in what He has made then we have a constant reminder of His ability. If we do not see God, then there is neither hint nor reminder of His purpose for our existence. Consequently we may imperil the normal workings of our conscience, we would question our thoughts and actions. Serious consequences result from failing to recognize God in His creation. Reasoning becomes the substitute for God & His word. Eventually reasonings become rationalizations that can lead them to justify almost any kind of behavior. They see no need to abide by a divine conduct.

The theory of evolution is supported by evidence. It's a science, and not a world view that tells humans how to live.
Morality does not need to come from a god. I am an atheist, a full-time student with a 3.9 GPA, I treat others with respect and I respect the American Constitution and the free market.
I have studied evolution, but I have never been in a class where the instructor told me "there is no god." Conversely, why would you want to put religion into a science class if you value freedom of speech?
Being an atheist, I can't win with most Christians. If I'm not called amoral, socialist, or a slacker whose morality goes against the "god fearing" American patriots, then I'm either a hedonist or a selfish materialist.

No. One of the greatest myths spun by the creationists is that Atheists/Evolutionists have no morals.
Religion is just one moral or philosophical idea put into pratice on a large scale.
People have trouble grasping the logistics of an extreme being, being all loving and all powerful yet allows evil to exist. He also demands worship and punishes those who choose not to.
Secondly, why when he had all the universe in his control, would he bother with an insignificant species on an obscure planet and tell them different ways to worship him, knowing full where their idioacy will cause them to war over it?
Organised religion is a greater producer than crime than an atheist/evolutionist society ever was. Give me a peaceful religion (the only one being Buddhism which doesn't have a god!!)
A question for you: Why does the idea we are nothing but animals so upset you creationist? Does it shatter your ego? Or do you believe your ministers more than your own book? The teachings of the Southern Baptists seems to strangely deviate from what Jesus taught.

I think the reason most schools dont teach religious ideology is that the government understand that parents to not want to allow teachings contrary to their own personal religious alignment. Thats why it is acceptable for parents to home school or place children in private schools so that religious teachings may be learned in environments more conducive to ones own personal religious beliefs.
Personally speaking I'm getting very tired of the argument that Christian valus are being forced out of the public school system. I pay my taxes every bit as much as anyone else and while I do have faith in God I do not wish to see a public school transformed into a secondary center of faith, the place for that is a Church, Mosque, or Temple.

Someone once wrote - "As goes the church - so goes the world." --- SO ---
Let's take it one step further -- Shall we not lay the blame at the door of the church (the body of Christ) that has allowed the
world and worldly concepts to go virtually unchallenged for years while holding more picnics than prayer meetings. If you feel this is uncharitable then think back over the past 10 or 20 years of your Christian experience. How many banquets, picnics, concerts, and on and on have come and gone during that time compared to prayer meetings.
How many people turned out for all those events. Let's see;
picnics ( most of every congregation), concerts (hundreds and thousands), banquets (a very good number), PRAYER MEETINGS ( In any given church perhaps three to seven people and closer to three).
I have seen it over and over and over in many churches. The signup sheet for entertainment and food consuming events is not a problem - the signup and showup for prayer meetings is infinitesimally small. Even when there is a prayer meeting, and I have been in some of them, in a good number of cases
the prayer is more like listening to someone's shopping list being read than grief and deep travail over the condition of ourselves, the body of Christ and the nation. We have become desensitized to sin. It no longer is the ugly, soul damning thing that threatens our neighbors, relatives and friends. It is just one more murder, one more rape and so on.
I look around the churches and do not see the burden of the heart of God burning in the hearts of God's people. Our altar times are spent weeping for ourselves while millions are dying all around us without hope. I CALL MYSELF AND ALL WHO ARE HONEST WITH THEMSELVES TO REPENT!
God is not pleased with us. The world laughs at us in our impotence!
It is high time that we hunger and thirst after righteousness so God can fill us and commission us to move with authority and power that will not back down from anyone or anything. THEN, AND ONLY THEN WILL THIS NATION BE HEALED.
EDIT: J. P. - You have no idea what you are talking about. You don't even know what a Christian is - if you did you would know you were talking jibberish!

But we aren't, "only animals".
We are humans. The fact that evolution is real doesn't change that as humans we live in a society and follow laws, and understand and feel compassion, empathy, and love.
Listen, if YOU are an immoral and evil person, and the only thing that prevents you from join the depravity you perceive is your belief in god, then YOU have problems, not evolution.
Take some damn responsibility for your actions.

The reason for rampant immorality in our society is that religious parents teach their children that the only possible basis for morality is belief in a God who will reward or punish them for their actions in life.
Eventually, everyone questions the existence of God. When they do, they are left without an incentive for moral behavior.
The way to correct this is not to keep preaching the existence of God. There will always be those who disbelieve in that.
The way to correct the immorality in our society is to teach people other, deeper, reasons for morality. Such reasons DO exist and many atheists are capable of explaining them to you.
The claim that all atheists are sex-crazed and immoral is complete fiction. I know of far more "Christians" who are that way.

There has always been immorality and crime, and as far as crime goes poverty has more to do with that than does a lack of "god" in the schools. You people seem to over and over ignore the fact that the founding fathers did not want a god of any kind in the governmental dealings of the country (like public schools)

I am honestly having a very difficult time understanding your logic.
I believe that the criminal-evil-hateful-murderous practitioners of nearly every religion on earth on a daily basis pretty much makes your entire theory a moot-point.
You are claiming that religion is a system of morality that comes with belief. But it has been proven over and over that even among people in the same religious sect there is no overriding morality. People do what they want to do.
So attempting to villify evolution, which is like villifying air or water, seems a weak ending to your logical equation.
Good luck, though. I hope you get a lot of converts.

I guess we should start living by the bible and adopt slavery and stone women for allegedly not being virgins on there wedding night, force women to marry their rapists etc. I don't pick my beliefs based on what I WANT to believe. I looked at the evidence and realize the bible couldn't possibly be true. If you had the guts to study evolution with an unbiased mind, you would have to admit that there is a boat load of evidence proving it.
