The whole thing is killing. Why doesn't god follow his own rules on the whole "no killing" thing?

What do you think? I heard this the other day and don't know enough about Fatima to form an opinion. Maybe one of the many super smart and helpful Yahoo Answers participants can shed some light on this. Why would someone levy this complaint? Based on what? What details?

When I contemplate the fundamental laws of nature (those presently known): the quantum laws, relativity, and the laws governing the fundamental forces: gravity, electromagnetism, strong and weak nuclear force..they seem to possess such profound intelligence and beauty. One question I find myself asking is: How can there be Laws? I could maybe imagine a rock existing on its own...but a Law? And such beautiful laws. How is that possible? I am truly filled with awe and wonder...and, I must say, a feeling of reverence, love, gratitude.

I recently received a wonderful gift for an all-expense paid Texas CHL (Concealed Handgun License) course so that in the near future I can lawfully carry a concealed weapon and use it if necessary.

What does your religious denomination teach about using lethal force? If you are a Christian, how do you rationalize taking up arms when your God has told you clearly to "turn the other cheek"? If you are Muslim, how do you view violence in the context of your religious teachings? If you are of another religious persuasion, what are your beliefs about self defense and use of lethal force?

Feel free to quote from your Holy books as necessary. I shall be most interested to see what you have learned.

God seemed to get bored easily with his creation IN THE BEGINNING.

--------------------

Why wouldn't God create another earth after this one is destroyed just to see if humans would turn out different this time. If I was GOD I would do it over and over since Time is meaningless to him. Come on, play a little with these questions. If you were GOD, this one time thing on earth couldn't be all there is for eternity....why not create several earths?

seriously, right now there could be a psychopathic killer within your family. there either is or there isn't a psychopathic killer in your family. that means that the odds are 50/50 that there is a psychopathic killer in your family. why not call the police right now on whoever you think is a psychopathic killer. it could be one of them. it could be all of them. but before you do make sure you plant some evidence on them. what's the worst that could happen? let's say you're wrong and the person is not a psycopathic killer. nothing happens to you. but what if you're right? then you prevented the psychopathic killer from going on a killing spree. you know what to do. now do it...

is dumb and easily understood to be an intellectually dishonest attempt at denying god in their heart?
Do you think that "deep down", skeptics know they are wrong and only are emboldened by their bitterness towards god and his truth?
It seems that many christians think that everything that might seem contentious about theology has a perfect answer and that only those who are bitter towards the obvious truth in the matter deny it.
can you admit that there are some things that are contentious and that there are no easy answers for at least some of the skeptical arguments?
Probably not.

why do critics of christianity call christians ignorant? when they are being ignorant in their very own ways. not all christians are the same. i am christian and i find value in all different kinds of faiths. i explored many faiths, and even kept a very skeptical outlook before choosing what to believe. why can't we just respect others beliefs...live and let live? a respectful attitude has nothing to do with any particular faith, its just about being a decent human being!

HEBREWS IN KING JAMES VERSION BIBLE [4] For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost,
[5] And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come,
[6] If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.
[7] For the earth which drinketh in the rain that cometh oft upon it, and bringeth forth herbs meet for them by whom it is dressed, receiveth blessing from God:
[8] But that which beareth thorns and briers is rejected, and is nigh unto cursing; whose end is to be burned.
