Would you want to BE in heaven if there were only Catholics there????

I am a Christian, but not a Catholic. Since I am not a Catholic, I don't consider the Catholic Church to have the same authority on religious and spiritual topics as I believe the Bible does. So if the Catholic Church says one must be a Catholic to get to Heaven, I disagree because the way to Heaven as described in the Bible by Jesus himself is pretty simple.

Here it is, as I see it:

1. Love God with your whole being.
2. Love your neighbor as yourself.
3. Love other Christians with the same kind of love Jesus showed to his followers (the first Christians).
4. Love your enemies.
5. Live 1, 2, 3, and 4 like you really mean it.

Of course, this is all just my opinion, but it makes sense to me that God wants the way to Heaven to be as simple as possible so people can understand it and live according to it.

Judge for yourself it that has the ring of truth to it.

No, you have to NOT be catholic to go to heaven. lol Just kidding. God loves everyone no matter what religion or non religion they are. Heaven and hell words created by humans. I do belive there is an afterlife and no one is barred from it. To think so is clearly to be ignorant and to feel that for some reason 'you' are better than all other groups of people on this planet. Sorry, thats no true. No one is any better or worse than anyone else.

Even Catholics dont beleive this, me being one. There are many a person that has lived saintly lives that aren't Catholic, or even Christian, and who are we to say that aren't basking in the glow of God the Father.
Catholic Ecumenical talks have been in motion since the 1960's with the Vatican Council II, and in this document of the Catholic Church, there is no mention that only Catholics will go to heaven, so it is not a belief.
God bless and I suggest you read this document and the Catechism of the Catholic Church to find your answers.

No! You just have to accept God's gift of Salvation (Romans 10:9-13) and fully believe in your heart that Jesus paid the only price that God will accept for all your sins. The only thing you should be concerned with after that is that the church you decide to attend teaches from the bible and not from man made ritual, tradition, or false teachings (mis-interpretations of the bible). The best source to start from is the King James Bible and then branch off into the Hebrew and Greek break down of the original word of God. Do this so that you know for sure that the church you attend is teaching the correct word of God.

Not according to the Catholic Church:

The Catholic Church teaches about Non-Catholic Christian Churches:

Furthermore, many elements of sanctification and of truth are found outside the visible confines of the Catholic Church: the written Word of God; the life of grace; faith, hope, and charity, with the other interior gifts of the Holy Spirit, as well as visible elements.

Christ's Spirit uses these Churches and ecclesial communities as means of salvation, whose power derives from the fullness of grace and truth that Christ has entrusted to the Catholic Church.

All these blessings come from Christ and lead to him.

With love in Christ.

The only ones who believe that are not Catholic. They just think Catholics think that. I'm Catholic, but my Great Grandmother was protestant, she died when I was about 4. I knew her better after her death than in life. I firmly believe she watches over me, and intercedes on my behalf. If you believe in God our Father, His son Jesus, and the Holy Spirit, then there's no reason for me to think you won't be in Heaven. Unless of course your a mass murderer. Then whatever happens on your judgment day is between you and God.

GOD doesnt mention any religions....second why do u think you will go to heaven whe you are praying to unanimated statues(fake saints) and you praise a man that is supposed to be our equal but thinks he should be treated like a king when he is not.....in the end the only one that can talk to the lord for you is jesus christ not a pope a saint or a fake virgin(the only real is amry beacuse there is prove) so pray to GOD in the name of jesus christ and put aside all the little statues that the vatican makes u praise and get in your knees to confuse you.....read the bible instead of being in yahoo...

No, but it helps. It is inside the Catholic Church that all the tools to aid us on the path to Heaven can be found.

No. the Bible did not say "Catholicism is the way, the truth and the life...." It says, "I (Jesus) am the Way, the Truth, and the Life, no one comes to the Father except through Me" Therefore, it is ONLY by actively and consciously accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior that one can go to heaven. There's nothing else you can DO. Salvation is a gift, accepted in Faith...not by works lest anyone should boast.
