I am not here to criticize your beliefs, this is just an honest question that I am curious about. As a christian, when things get really bad for me and I feel like everything in my life is going wrong or just get very sad what makes me happy is the feeling in my heart that I can rely on Jesus to be there for me. It helps me to believe that there is something else out there for me, a greater being or purpose. What makes you happy when you're down like this?

I mean this for the true Atheists who don't think there is any supreme being. How do you feel happy inside when you are so alone? Please don't respond if you are going to criticize my beliefs or if you are going to be rude, I am not being rude and am not trying to put down your beliefs...I just want to know.

While I don't understand why any person would want to kill another because they don't share the same belief, I know that it has gone on practically since the beginning of time (The Crusades, radical muslims, etc) but why do radical muslims feel that they are doing the right thing when they setoff a car bomb or similar destructive thing that kill women, children, muslims, non muslims, possibly people from their own sect. It just seems like it is violence for the sake of violence because they aren't all that picky about who gets killed. Can someone explain what they think they are accomplishing? And how, in the name of Islam, is it OK for them to kill other muslims...I thought it was good for them to kill infidels (radical way of thinking, not mainstream muslims) but not other muslims. (only serious answers please).

Especially Christianity and Islam. But I don't understand this obsession with suffering, and the whole idea that being happy and indulging in pleasure is evil.

If God created people, why would he then want to torture them? If he truly loved people as religion teaches, wouldn't he want them to not feel pain?

for the existance of God been successfully refuted. If God exists, is it unreasonable to suppose that there would be at least one irrefutable proof of his existence?

The punishment was given on earth, painful childbirth etc - then Christ got us forgiven - which was nice - but we still have painful childbirths - forgiven but still punished - we at least let criminals out of jail - we don't say "you're forgiven but we're gonna keep you locked up anyway" What's the deal ?

I have been a part of a Christian church for over 6 years now... I was converted in one area and raised spiritually in another area (diff. states, same type of church). Alot of bad stuff happended when I was in the first church (the one I was converted in). Because our churches our very close nationally, I feel pressured to go to the church I was first converted in whenever I am in the area... the longer I wait to contact them the more anxiety I get... we are pressured in my church to "not miss meeting with the fellowship" and to only go to our type of church. The anxiety has deepened me into a serious depression... has anyone had a similar experience with their church?

No, I am not trying to offend, it is a simple correlational question. I'm sorry if you can't handle it.

The question is, if people are going to make the effort to move to the West for a better life, why are they continuing their outdated and sometimes barbaric traditions? If they are going to continue to cover up and beat their wives and daughters, why even bother coming here?

In book club for RS enrichment a month or so ago, the group leader brought a list of books you should read in your life. She said she got it from the New Era and that the list was published in the 70's or 80's. I have looked all over the church's online library, but can't find the article. And the group leader doesn't know where to find it exactly (she got it from someone else).

Has anyone seen this list and know where I could find it?

Note: Obviously, this question in no way requests anti-mormon sites or for your opinion on my church or beliefs. So please refrain from such answers. If you can't refrain, accept the consequence of being reported.

sometimes when i`m laying down or about to fall asleep, i feel like i`m floating & moving back and forth.. i told my gramma about this [i`m 16] & she`s really religious; she told me it`s an angel carrying me.. but i wanna know what it really is.. it feels co0l though. it only lasts a couple of seconds & it happens every couple of weeks or months. after it`s over, it feels like i`m being placed back into where i`m laying.. what is that?

"Religiously inspired child abuse" or OK? What do you think/why?

(Keep in mind that the supposed "health benefits" are marginal at best. One could make an argument for past times, where sanitation was a rarity, but in this time it doesn't make a difference. I'll welcome any proof that says otherwise, but that is the knowledge I have.)

. . .has some of the most heartless individuals in existence?

One of you managed to get all prayer requests for Debra M deleted, including her husband's and the one that I posted for her. I hope the person responsible is very pleased with themselves. I really have to wonder how you're going to react when what goes round, comes round and lands on your doorstep.

Please, whoever you are, feel free to have this question deleted, too. It won't matter to me because at this point, I am asking myself if this forum is anywhere that I want to be.

last night , while waiting a few hours in the waiting room of a hospital as my mum was being attended to ....
I realised that I was all alone there , which for A&E is pretty strange
then in comes a lady and sits next to me , reading a book that I had read
so we started to talk
she was a Seik (sp? ) and we spent almost 2 hours discussing religion and life and love and peace
and all that good stuff
she was like a Seik pangel lol
my two hours in a waiting room , turned into a beautiful educational discussion with someone I connected with right away

have you had experiences like this ?
do you think people come into our lives for a reason ?
what are your thoughts please ?

To Debra ; O Lord, place light in her heart, light in her sight, light in her hearing, light on her right hand, light on her left hand, light above her, light below her, light in front of her, light behind her, and enhance light for her and bring her back to us.

please say this prayer for her, God knows how much she loved prayer.

That was the last message Debra b left for us, God bring her back safe and well.
