Why do radical muslims kill other muslims?

Question

While I don't understand why any person would want to kill another because they don't share the same belief, I know that it has gone on practically since the beginning of time (The Crusades, radical muslims, etc) but why do radical muslims feel that they are doing the right thing when they setoff a car bomb or similar destructive thing that kill women, children, muslims, non muslims, possibly people from their own sect. It just seems like it is violence for the sake of violence because they aren't all that picky about who gets killed. Can someone explain what they think they are accomplishing? And how, in the name of Islam, is it OK for them to kill other muslims...I thought it was good for them to kill infidels (radical way of thinking, not mainstream muslims) but not other muslims. (only serious answers please).

In the Iraq sistuation the two groups are fighting so heavily due to history. Under Sadam' reign the Sunni's were oppressed heavily by the Shia who were in power. Now that the Shia are no longer in power the Sunni' s see this as a chance to take revenge. Hope this helps to explain it a little.

Kevin, I hate to be the one to tell you but Americans all realize that the Muslims hate us. Simply because we are not Muslims! From the way things look in Iraq; even being a Muslim isn't enough, you have to be the right kind of Muslim; whatever that means. At the rate they are killing each other, I don't believe they have decided yet what kind of Muslim you have to be to stay alive! A sorry state indeed. Yes, we know they want to kill us & unless our borders are a lot more secure than they are now, they will come again. By cutting back on the Border Patrol & Shore Patrol, they won't have a difficult time in achieving their goal of killing more Americans.

That's what terrorists do, they create terror by killing at random. They seem to think the world will bow down to them out of fear, so they keep instilling more fear, by killing anyone and anything they can. When terrorists kill their own sect, they seem to think those people died martyrs, even though it wasn't by choice. My biggest fear is that the rest of the world will eventually get fed up and nuke the lot of them, the good along with the bad. Right now its the radical muslims, but its happened in Ireland too, just not on so great a scale. Terrorists have one mind set, instilling terror.

Islam teaches that whoever kills an innocent person, it is as if he has murdered all of humanity. It is definitely not allowed in Islam to kill fellow Muslims, Christians, Jews, Buddhists, Hindus, Wiccans, or anyone else, so long as they are not attacking us.

These poor souls have been led astray by politicians. They probably have never read the Quran, and if they have read it, they surely haven't understood it.

Radicals have been killing people who disagree with them (or refuse to convert) since the beginning of time. Religious affiliation is irrelevant.

People will kill in the name of religion, no matter what god they follow. And they'll feel justified in doing it.

The koran tells them to do it to "purify" islam. It also tells them to kill all non-muslims to "purify" the world. It even tells muslims to beat their wives (4:34).
Islam has never been peaceful and never will be.
