The question is, if people are going to make the effort to move to the West for a better life, why are they continuing their outdated and sometimes barbaric traditions? If they are going to continue to cover up and beat their wives and daughters, why even bother coming here?

Pfft, they're no worse than the Christian fundies we already have here, at least they're OPEN about being barbaric, and don't act all goody-goody. Christians are just as bad, they just cover it up better.
