Heck yeah, I love Christmas, and not for Jesus. Most people complain that xmas is too commercial, fine by me! And a lot of the ways we celebrate xmas have roots in the Pagen beliefs, not Christian. It was an extension of the Winter Solstice celebration and when Christianity took over, the Pagens did not want to give it up so Christians tweaked it to become a religious holiday. December 25th isn't even when Christ was supposedly born, he was born in the fall (probably October) because the shepherds would not have been out with their flocks in December, but the Winter Solstice is in December, compromise!

One would think that you as an atheist would know christmas to be a pagan winter celebration holiday - the christians only changed the name. The only people who shouldn't celebrate it are those of christendom. Same for Easter, in case you don't know that either. It is the pagan spring celebration, again taken over by christians and renamed as a disguise. Halloween is pagan as well.

I do. And I realize that Santa Claus is not real, too. :-)
Christmas is a great opportunity to spend time with friends and family and to share presents with each other. Many citizens in Japan and Thailand also celebrate Christmas, though they do not believe in Christianity.
This isn't atypical. Loads of people celebrate Easter in the U.S. Guess what religion that came from? (hint* not Christianity)

Why not? Christmas is not a religious holiday. Christmas is selfish because it is a time to gratify fleshly desires. It is a time to condone moral misbehavior. It is a time for revelries, a time when the belly becomes a god and when drunks and gluttons abound. And yet it is Christ’s apostle who shows that those practicing such things will not inherit God’s kingdom! (Gal. 5:19, 21; Phil. 3:19) Christmas is selfish because it is a farce. For the real, living Christ does not receive any more attention than he does the rest of the year.

I am not an atheist nor do I accept religions. However, I enjoy celebrating Christmas as a traditional holiday. Not because it is the birthday of Christ, because it isn't.

Yes, all of them as far as I know. Christmas doesn't have much to to with JC. His DOB is not mentioned in the Bible and if shepherds had their flocks out at night it was unlikely he was supposed to be born in the winter. Early priests grafted the Christmas ceremony onto the heathen 'Winter Solstice' in order to obliterate what they saw as a pagan rite.
Some people who've taken up the pagan religion in recent times still call it 'Winter Solstice'.

Certainly, the very ancient holiday called The Return of Light became the Jewish holiday The Festival of Lights and finally the Christian Christmas.
It's a nice holiday, we just don't make it a religious one. By the way, we do wish our friends a Merry Christmas when we talk to them, because most of them are Christian.

Yes.
Many atheists celebrate the ancient pagan traditions of Saturnalia for the same reason most Christians do.
Because it's fun.

Of course, athiests can be just as good hypocrites as Christians - Christians kiss under the misletoe, have Yule Logs, hunt easter bunnies - all good pagan traditions which atheists enjoy too by the way - and they are no more pagan than the pope.
