Jesus said you must have the faith of a child. You must be able to put reason away and except the words of Christ as a child would believe, without questioning. Jesus said by your faith you are well. With the faith of a mustard seed you can move a mountain.
Some things that are Spiritual that Jesus talked about can not be proven or can not be accepted by some when they use reason. Some things may be unreasonable but he said , blessed are those who see and believe but more blessed are they who don't see and believe. Blind faith is beyond reasoning. Blind faith requires surrender and trust.
All would like to have cold facts, but to see beyond may require first the faith of a mustard seed and the blind faith of a child. If you believed in Santa Claus, you have experienced blind faith of a child.

Atheists have faith too. It's just faith in themselves and the things they have heard from others that tell them they don't have to give Christianity any time or thought. When you don't want to believe in something and you are comfortable being superior to people with "blind" faith you won't be looking too hard. It's not like you are out reading Christian books on faith to see if there is some evidence for it. You haven't picked up any Lee Strobel or interviewed a pastor. You believe only what you see and excuse it by saying it's because of "cold reason". Bring your doubts to a pastor or read up on them. Think with an open mind and you'll be surprised at how much it does make sense. I used to be the same way, but when I opened up to it, I realized that there is a lot of truth in Christianity and it has a pretty good idea of how people are and how the world works. If you haven't searched with all your might, you can't talk. If you don't you're closing your own eyes and are blind to another point of view. My faith is NOT blind by any means. I question it. I listen to atheists and their points. I research, struggle, pray, and question God all the time. God intended us to. Christians come in all types. Many of the most intelligent, reasonable people I know are Christians. You have an odd paradigm when it comes to faith.

The term blind faith is a misnomer. It connotes faith in nothing, which is not a christian concept of faith. If you intend it to mean faith in that which cannot be seen, then you are getting close to the christian idea of faith. Faith must be in what cannot be seen or it isn't faith, it is fact.
Why not cold reason then? Because cold reason cannot answer ultimate questions with facts. Why am I here? Who am I? Where did I come from? Where am I going? Is there spirit? Reason simply cannot know these things. It doesn't mean that they aren't there. It just means that they cannot be perceived by reason.
Dogs hear sounds that we cannot, Falcons see things that we cannot. Their senses are better than ours. Just as our senses are limited, so is our reason. We are dependent upon information from outside of our senses for answers to ultimate questions.

Because fanatics do not believe in reason. Reason goes out the door when religion consumes someone, they can not exist within the same place. Logic and reason are lost among the highly religious, Mormons for example show no logic or reason at all with their belief that William Joseph is the true prophet, when he was drunk, passed out, hit his head on a rock, and had a vision of god and now has created the largest cult in the world. Theres some logic and reason for you! Lets follow a drunk! Religion was created BY MAN, not by anyone else....
By the way, the Bible was WRITTEN BY MAN, it is propaganda, used to hold people into submission. They said throw aside reason, and have faith like a child to get people to become slaves to the will of the church. Fools, all of you.

Neither is acceptable. Cold reason ignores the workings of the spirit. You cannot objectivize faith. Without faith, their is no religious worship. Blind faith takes away our agency. There can be no choice to obey if we never think through the issues to know what we are accepting. Thus, we are taught to ponder the subject in our minds and in our hearts. Come to a conclusion and present it before the Lord in prayer. Then, if our conclusion be right, we will feel the truth of it through the workings of the Holy Ghost. If we are wrong, we will feel confusion and stupor of thought.
If I have to choose one or the other, I will choose to obey first, while I am going through the process of thinking it through, pondering the issue and praying for confirmation. Thus, faith and reason can go together for the best results.

Because there are supernatural realities you can't know of through the senses and through the natural mind. By natural mind I mean your mind as it has been brought up - it only understands sense data, and basic logical reasoning.
But it isn't blind faith. Its faith in realities. Some of the things trusted for are in the future. But its possible for one's faith to lead to changes in ones's life through God's power, that simply aren't possible just through human reasonings, human creativity and human effort Look at Jesus ministry and the book of Acts. God really did things when men had faith. Jesus shows us what can be achieved.

LOL you answered it yourself....why do you thing it is called "cold reason"?
Believe what you will, but the people whom left the Church because of "cold reason" were not those whom had a close relationship with our Lord with mind, heart, and Spirit, they are those whom allowed satan to whisper in their ears and harden their hearts to something they saw many have that they did not and couldn't understand "why".
Being a "robot" and doing what is "expected" that a "Christian" do, is NOT what it is to be God's child.
When we say "walk the walk", we don't mean what the Pharisees and Sadducee's believed was "right" to do....
No....it is to walk and talk and listen to God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit and be willing to follow and DO as they direct us....NOT just putting on our weekly "masks" and doing things man would find approval of us for.
My question to those whom have "blind faith TO cold reason" is this: Why didn't you put more time into seeking the love of God as you do in trying to believe the "cold reason"?
Think about it. Peace be found within you :)

Look for a book called The Case for Christianity. Sorry, I cant remember the author's name. It's not blind faith. Look for it at the library if you don't have the money.

The argument for the existence of a higher power can actually be made using only logic and reason. Unfortunately, many people feel that science and religion cannot coexist and so denounce one or the other weakening the arguments for both. Its quite sad that people can't find the perfect harmony that exist between the two, allowing both the comforts of faith and science.

Who are you to say we follow either?
Christianity is not blind--and if you studied history you would know that. There has never been a religion that has brought more progress to the world: the concept of individual liberties, the foundations of science, personhood, citizen, etc, all of these things would not exist without Christianity and Christian ideals.
