I swear, in all 5 years of me converting to Islam, I never once met a fundamentalist in real life who followed me around preaching. I was in the public library with my two children wearing a traditional salwar kameez and my winter coat with the hood up (It hides the hair well). Based on my dress, the woman assumed I had married a Hindu man and converted to Hinduism for him. She kept saying "Oh, you're wrong, be saved, it's the devil". I tried to be respectful at first, saying "This is what you feel. You can say what you want, my beliefs are my beliefs" (I didn't say I wasn't a Hindu, because it wasn't any of her business that I am a muslim woman). She kept on and on, finally I turned around and said "OK, lady, I've been polite to you enough and that doesn't get the message through that I am not interested in preaching. Had I been interested, I would have gone to a church. As it stands, I am in a public library and you are harassing me in a country where we have freedom of

I have been reading the work of Peter Singer, an atheist ethicist at Princeton University. He has a very strong stance about wealth and poverty. As a Christian, I am struck by rigor of his moral thinking (in this area, not others) and wonder what others think.

He argues that the injustice of some people living in abundance while others starve is morally indefensible. Singer proposes that anyone able to help the poor should donate part of their income to aid poverty and similar efforts. Singer reasons that, when one is already living comfortably, a further purchase to increase comfort will lack the same moral importance as saving another person's life. Consequently, one is responsible for deaths that could have been prevented just as much as those that are directly caused. Is your living beyond your basic needs a passive form of murder?

I have a question for you. Now, I am not judging, I am just curious about your opinions. What would you do if you were raped and a child resulted from that? Would you still be pro life?

Am I pro life? Put it this way. If i were ever raped and a pregnancy resulted from it, I would raise that child with the same love and care I give to my own children as it's not the child's fault and the child should not be made to suffer for how it was conceived. That doesn't meant I want to say that to other women, because every woman is different and has her own unique circumstances, but personally I could never ever get an abortion or give up a child of mine for adoption.

How do you as women feel about this and what would you do?

more then atheists do. see, most christians believe that unborn babies are free of sin thus go directly to heaven. So why get all upset that the child won't suffer on earth? they could live eternity with god so why do christians get all upset about it. seeing as an atheist believes we have only one life and should enjoy that life don't you think we have more of a moral dilemna about it than you do?

I'm a little confused...=/

Peter's vision: Acts 10: 9-16

9 On the morrow, as they went on their journey, and drew nigh unto the city, Peter went up upon the housetop to pray about the sixth hour:

10 And he became very hungry, and would have eaten: but while they made ready, he fell into a trance,

11 And saw heaven opened, and a certain vessel descending unto him, as it had been a great sheet knit at the four corners, and let down to the earth:

12 Wherein were all manner of fourfooted beasts of the earth, and wild beasts, and creeping things, and fowls of the air.

13 And there came a voice to him, Rise, Peter; kill, and eat.

14 But Peter said, Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten any thing that is common or unclean.

15 And the voice spake unto him again the second time, What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common.

16 This was done thrice: and the vessel was received up again into heaven

If we were all created by God and from Adam and Eve, wouldnt that make us related, if so, its against the law to marry or do those who are related to u. What do u say of this?

P S, i personaly feel the bible is a bunch of stolen property takin out of other religions, u may agree or disagree but that is how i see it. This is why i ask these qs, they make no sense.

When Angel appeared to Mother Mary and said about the child, she doubt and asked how can that be? Angel said don't worry, it is done as said in the past this and that. Ok.

Same time, Zacharia's wife also got pregnant after praying so hard and Zacharia had a doubt and angel made his mouth shut and Zacharia couldn't talk until the time it came to name the his child.

Angel took side and it is unfair, I think mother Mary too had doubt but no punishment, Zacharia too doubt but severe punishment. Can someone explain? Thanks

It's something I find interesting. Closed off to a God who is described as Love, Light and Truth. Yet they crave the very thing they shut out and attempt to create it for themselves in various forms of spititituality with no power in them.

Just a note for those who doubt God, I haven't met anyone who is "open minded" who has bothered to open their heart and truely seek God. Would you claim to understand a great author without first reading his book? You can't understand God without reading about him..so check it out before you close your heart.

This is just something I hope you will ponder before you start typing away. You don't become a Christian to go to heaven or to just avoid going to hell. Those are stupid reasons. Someone should become a Christian because they want to be a new creature full of love and have the power to overcome the evils around them. "Greater is he that is in you than he that is in the world"
Seek God with and Open Heart he isn't found in a open mind.

I believe in a higher power and have faith. I have a really hard time coming to grips that we do so many horrible things to one another because we can't agree on how a devine spirit wants us to live. If God (or whichever higher power your religion worships) is truely all around us and inside all of us do we really need religion to tell us what to do?

Is what I was taught true? Have I looked at what the Catholic Church has to say about itself, using official resources such as the Catechism of the Catholic Church and papal encyclicals? Could my opinion of the Catholic Church possibly be based on bias, bigotry, bad history, propaganda from the secular media, or the bad priests who get publicity (i.e., the sick, and sickening, pedophile priests or those certain heretical modernist priests the secular media love to give press to)? Is it fair to judge doctrine by such things? Is any group with human beings in it free from sin and scandal? If I am wrong about the Catholic Church, what does that mean?

What do you guys look for in a girl honestly? Would you date a girl who already had children if she had never been married previously? I am just curious. I am a single mother of two baby boys, and a convert to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. My friend (a less active member of the church) says that she doesn't think most nice born and raised LDS men would consider dating me because I already have kids ect. I never considered my children to be any thing less then gifts from God and they are the biggest blessings in my life. I just want to know if you guys are truly that judgemental. I don't think so but I wanted to hear it from you. Let me know your take on this...

I do not understand why believers and non believers are hanging out in the same place, it only stands to reason when you mix the right ingredients you are going to have disaster. No one here is searching for anything. I guess that is how there came to be so many denominations. Which btw I am a non-denomination. That means I believe the Bible and that God is who he says he is and holds the keys, that Jesus Christ is his son who died on the cross for all our sins if we accept him and that his spirit dwells within us and that if we have the faith the size of a grain of mustard seed we can move mountains. I do not have a wish to cram my beliefs on anyone but I do pray for each and every one of you that you can learn the peace that passes all understanding through the one who teaches me. If someone would like to know about my faith I am more than willing to share, but to those of you who do not believe as I do then the things I say please do not take offense to I am not aiming at yo
