Peter's vision: Acts 10: 9-16

9 On the morrow, as they went on their journey, and drew nigh unto the city, Peter went up upon the housetop to pray about the sixth hour:

10 And he became very hungry, and would have eaten: but while they made ready, he fell into a trance,

11 And saw heaven opened, and a certain vessel descending unto him, as it had been a great sheet knit at the four corners, and let down to the earth:

12 Wherein were all manner of fourfooted beasts of the earth, and wild beasts, and creeping things, and fowls of the air.

13 And there came a voice to him, Rise, Peter; kill, and eat.

14 But Peter said, Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten any thing that is common or unclean.

15 And the voice spake unto him again the second time, What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common.

16 This was done thrice: and the vessel was received up again into heaven

Leviticus 11
Clean and Unclean Land Animals
1 The LORD spoke to Moses and Aaron: 2 "Tell the Israelites: You may eat (A) all these [kinds] of land animals. (B) 3 You may eat any animal with divided hooves and that chews the cud. 4 But among the ones that chew the cud or have hooves you are not to eat [these]:
the camel, (C) though it chews the cud,
does not have hooves—it is unclean for you;

5 the hyrax, (D) [a] though it chews the cud,
does not have hooves—it is unclean for you;

6 the hare, though it chews the cud,
does not have hooves—it is unclean for you;

7 the pig, though it has divided hooves,
does not chew the cud—it is unclean for you.

8 Do not eat any of their meat or touch their carcasses—they are unclean for you. (E)

Here's another passage that makes it very clear: "He said to them, "Are you so ignorant? Don't you know that nothing that goes into a person from the outside can make him unclean? For it doesn't go into his heart but into his stomach, and is expelled as waste." (Thus he declared all foods clean.) (Mark 7:18-19)

It is okay to eat pork. When God created all the animals in the beginning they were all holy and clean. However, when Adam and Eve sinned there was a cursed that fell on the animals which changed their nature. Actually, since Adam and Eve were on top of all God's creation, the sinful nature of man fell upon the animals. Whatever is at the top goes through out everything else. So, the unclean animals exhibited a nature which was consistent to sinful man. So, God told Moses to tell the people not to eat these certain animals because they are unclean. But now that Jesus Christ has came and filled the believers with His Holy Spirit all things are clean for us again. Because the believer has anointing from God and whatever comes into His presence or possesion is blessed, including food. That's why the apostle Paul said all food is good to eat if it is received with thanksgiving and prayer, because it is consecrated with prayer or made holy. The reason some people suffer with health problems from eating pork is because they eat with greed which is a sin. And that sin of eating with gluttony is causing them to have high blood pressure, heart disease, and other sicknesses. But pork which eaten with thanks and is prayed over has the blessing of God on it.

By quoting the scripture, you answered your own question. No, it is not bad for us to eat pork. God has relieved us from being under Mosaic Law, and we're not compelled to abide by those dietary laws any longer.

Under Mosaic Law, pork was considered "unclean". But in the scripture, the Lord is saying that we are no longer under the law, but under grace. So "What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common ( or unclean ). "

Hope this helps you.

PS.... Also, the message of that passage refers to Jews associating with Gentiles. Before, under the law, the Jews could not do so, but God is telling Peter that he may now go out unto the Gentiles.

These things show the common sense of Father God. He told His chosen people not to eat pork because of the parasites which lived in them ( think about the sense of that) He spoke to Peter because of his reluctance to preach to the Gentiles and Holy Ghost was wanting to be in the house of Cornelius, the roman. New Testament revelation trumps Old Testament.

God changed the rules so that Peter and others would become missionaries to gentiles.

Pork is disgusting.
I'm a Muslim and i dont eat pork and i dont think anyone should eat pork because its just gross. I got an email one time that coke was dropped on a peice of pork and two hours later the scientists saw worms coming out the pork. It was really gross. I dont think anyone should eat pig because there are many things that are unlhealthy and not good for the body.
