It is to God alone that you need to confess your sins and in the name of Jesus is how He forgives you... It seems to me that you already have done that and when you begin to have faith the size of a mustard seed, that this is the case, you will be bothered no more!!! Read the true word of God and stop breaking your head about what men think and say... It is what God says that matters... and He knows your imperfection... That's why He sent His son Christ Jesus to die such a horrible death as a divine ransom sacrifice for them all... May the peace of God that excels all thoughts be with you and trust in Him to feel better... NOW!

Don't give Satan this victory. God always forgives when we recognize our sin and pray for forgiveness. People, even good people, lie to get out of uncomfortable situations. If someone was harmed by your comment, go to them and apologize. If you can't, remember the feelings you have now of being eaten up by it, and let God use your pain to remind you that you truly recognize that honesty is the only way for you to feel genuine and appreciative of God's grace. And remember, we all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God--it is another opportunity to grow to humble yourself and set this straight. God bless your discerning spirit.

Talk to the priest/minister or the person you gave the comment to. Talk to God. Go to confession. Ask for forgiveness and penance if that is in your heart.

since in the 10 commandments a lie is as serious as adultery or murder I would say you have to make amends by going to the preacher and telling him what you did. If he feels the need to discipline you it will probably be private reproof. But I would take it seriously not to do it again.

Holy Spirit convicts of our sins. Feeling guilty of something is a good sign. It means Holy Spirit wants us to confess it as it is becoming a hurdle for the Spirit to continue working in us. SO Cheer up and confess it to the one concerned. God will continue to bless you.

Ask for forgiveness, then I would go to the pastor and tell him and ask if you should bring it before the church.

confess your faults to one another that you may be healed. You can talk to your Pastor, he will understand, you,ll be supprised how you will feel afterward, and you,ll be in good graces with God. again.
